This company offers a good plan to all visitors, but reality is different.
Please read up to the end before you book a trip with them, specially if you are over 60 years old.
Yesterday we took a bus tour to Grand Canyon on bus 957, and honestly I have to recognize that Renee, the lady in charge of the group did her best to make us feel ok, but she is just an employee from this "company" that is very IRRESPONSIBLE.
Initially the seller at the agency in CVS store in Las Vegas Blv, told us we will be picked up at 7:35 am and she wrote that time on our receipt, my surprise is that we start getting phone calls at 6:00 am, a bus driver "driving" us crazy with a bunch of phone calls because we were "late" she was very rude on the phone, considering that this is a service company.
Second and not the worst; there is no real breakfast... they just put a tray with cookies on the bus; you're supposed to grab one after a quick 15 minutes walk around the top of a hill, where you can see the Hover Dam, so make sure you eat something or bring it to take while riding the bus.
At every stop, they tell us we have only 15 minutes to go to the bathroom, buy souvenirs, visit the place and take pictures... remember the bus is packed with about 60 tourist.
At the final stop, they let you walk by yourself for about two hours and "get lost" in the grand canyon area; if you want to get a guided walking tour you're supposed to pay $20.00 extra.
THE WORST OF THE WORST We were supposed to take our bus back to Las Vegas at 4:45 pm. In front of the "Bright Angel Lodge" Surprise! the bus was stopped because a mechanical problem, so they decided to call a mechanic from Las Vegas, to go and check the bus issue that, we all understand was not in schedule but we were collaborating waiting maybe one more hour.
Some customer call the office to ask for another bus, or a good new; instead of that the phone operators didn't help at all and they called Renee making her feel guilty because customer were complaining.
It was not one hour... it took us more than 5 hours waiting for the bus, and revealing us that this tour operator didn't have a back up bus or a plan B for all its customer, considering that in this tour we have elderly people, tourist that they're are taking specific medications, people that needed to be back on time in Las Vegas because they had later to take a flight to go back to their place, people with a very short budget and they have to buy their dinner in the area because it was dinner time.
It was good that Renee, got some help She got us a van to ride us to the parking lot and get our personal belongings, yes some tourist left back in the bus their backpack with water, snack, medication, or a jacket... it was chilly here.
Honestly GRAND VEGAS TOUR should contact all customer in this tour to apologize or compensate the "bus issue", so far we haven't get any of both.
We reach our Vegas hotel around 3:00 am Local Time, and almost at the end if our Grand Canyon Journey I saw the last bus driver asked by a group of 4 elderly to drop them near their hotel, and this lady just left them on a schedule stop without considering this people was exposed on the middle of a big city in a place that is not their final stop, because "their fault" ( IF YOURE OVER 60 BE CAREFUL TO BOOK YOUR TOUR HERE) I understand that drivers and guide tours are not the company owners but they should be more considerate with...
Read moreThe Grand Canyon was breathtaking once we arrived and worth the long ride, however the experience getting was not worth the price we paid. Would have better renting a car and driving ourselves. First our group had got split on two different buses which the company was wonderful about correcting the morning of the tour. Once in the bus however the driver made a couple comments about âfriends needing to be togetherâ well when you book the trip and plan it together and travel 1200 miles together yes you want to be together. In the material on the website it talks about a light breakfast being served, enough water for the entire day. Well a light breakfast was a small nutrgrain bar or sweet roll and the drive made sure that everyone only took one like we were in kindergarten. Once on the bus and heading down the road the tour guide and the driver started to argue as they had never worked together before. We get to the Hover Damn and are told to go take some pictures use the bathroom and be back in the bus in 10 minutes. 100 people on this bus. Several other buses and 10 minutes, needless to say not everyone was able to get back in 10 minutes. The drive was very rude, yelling at the passengers and scolding us, belittling the ones that took too long. It was embracing. So off we go, they started a movie about the Hover Damn but forgot to put the volume on so the entire bus could hear it. We get to the second stop. We are told about the great photo opportunities and what to buy at the little dinner in town. We get off the bus we are given 10 minutes again. Not enough time for everyone to get through the line for the baked goods that we promised to be packaged and ready for us. We then stand in line for our lunches, we were handed our lunches and a water and told that this would be the last water we would have for the day that we would be given two. On the information on the website it says that water is provided enough for the whole day. 2 bottles of water for 15 hours of travel. The driver again treated each person like they were 5. Lunch was good as we ate on the bus. We got back on the bus moved two blocks and then had another 10 minutes for all these photo opportunities that we couldnât get to because we had no time. Our group was afraid of being yelled at by the driver. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We made to the destination and it was spectacular!!! Had three hours to spend there which was plenty of time however the driver made a point of scolding all on board about what to do and if he doesnât get his nap in we would not be getting back. We head back the driver and the tour guide do not see eye to eye and disagree throughout the tour and on many occasion forget to turn the microphone off the broadcast the conversation throughout the bus. I would not recommend this tour just rent a car. Go at your own speed you wonât feel like your back in...
Read moreWe booked this tour at the last minute after finding it on Google. Big mistake. I wish we would have asked for a recommendation from the hotel. The bus driver who picked us up from Treasure Island was completely RUDE to a foreign couple who didn't understand the process of being transported to the larger tour bus. Once we were aboard the larger bus, we found the new driver wasn't much better. He repeated things 10+ times in a very condesending manner. We didn't book the tour to hear about how people order one sandwich and ask for another when the food arrives. The only one who had any customer service skills was the bus driver. The poor guy probably didn't make good tips that day due to the offensive tour guide.
Re: the tour itself. There was a lot of wasted time on this tour. 3 stops on the way to the West Rim. It took over 4 hours (and should only take 2 1/2 hours). We purchased tickets on the bus for the Skywalker for $33 to find out they were selling for $25 at the West Rim. On a positive note, we LOVED being at the Grand Canyon. It was beautiful and we truly enjoyed our time there.
I would recommend booking a tour to the West Rim, just with another...
