Local Love Letter: Munch-A-Sub, Las Vegas Some places are worth the drive. And this one? Worth every wild freeway merge and red-light detour from Green Valley Ranch to Cameron Street.

After weeks of seeing viral clips and craving the flavor, my husband and I finally made the trek — nearly 30 minutes across town to uncover what so many locals already know: Munch-A-Sub is a hidden legend in the heart of Vegas.

Founded in 1996 and fiercely run by an all-woman crew, this Italian-style New York deli is more than a sandwich shop. It’s a story steeped in flavor, care, and that old-school hospitality you just don’t find anymore. From the moment we stepped inside, the vibe was cozy, the line was lively, and the scent? Irresistible.

We arrived around 12:50PM on a Thursday — just past peak lunch hour, or so we thought. The line was 10 guests deep but moved with rhythm and ease. In minutes, we were placing our order, eager to taste what the TikToks had promised.

I chose the #11 — a 12-inch masterpiece of turkey, ham, ripe tomato, crisp lettuce, onion, and that perfect drizzle of mustard, mayo, oil, and vinegar. The bread tasted like it was baked that morning — soft, fresh, and sturdy enough to cradle every overflowing bite. Honestly, I only managed half. The portion was epic.

Paired with a bowl of Italian wedding soup — the daily special — the meal became a memory. That soup tasted homemade, delicate and full of love. It reminded me of my mom’s, and I found myself wishing for a hunk of crusty buttered bread to seal the moment.

For our kiddo, we brought home a 6-inch turkey, and my husband grabbed the #60 sub club with a bowl of gumbo. He didn’t speak much while eating — a silent tribute to how good it was. Later, he said the gumbo was fresh and bold, and the sandwich was so generous he couldn’t finish the second half either (and he’s not a petite eater!).

Our total? Just $58 — for two towering 12-inch subs, two soul-warming soups, and one kid-sized sandwich. For the quality, size, and handmade care, it’s one of the best values you’ll find in Vegas.

And don’t skip dessert — their homemade cookies are everything. Soft, sweet, and just the right kind of melt-in-your-mouth magic.

If you’re anywhere near the area, stop in and give them a try. I guarantee you won’t regret it — promise. This isn’t just lunch…...

Munch A Sub: A Cozy Italian Haven at the Heart of the Neighborhood

Munch A Sub isn't just your average Italian sandwich joint; it's a cherished hub of the community, where the deliciousness of the food is matched only by the homey feel of the place. As you walk through the door, you're enveloped in a welcoming warmth that makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a family gathering—familiar faces, lively chatter, and the irresistible scent of freshly baked bread and savory marinara sauce.

During my recent visit, I couldn't resist trying the 30" Meatball Hot Sub, and let me tell you, it was an absolute feast for the senses. Loaded with gooey provolone and mozzarella and drenched in marinara, this sandwich is a hot, cheesy, and saucy work of art. When it was brought to my table, it was so piping hot that I had to wait a moment before digging in, but that only heightened the anticipation. Every bite was a harmonious blend of textures—soft yet crusty bread, flavorful meatballs bursting with Italian herbs, and a medley of cheeses so flawlessly melted that they seemed to embrace the meatballs with each mouthful.

Despite its substantial size, the 30" sub was incredibly satisfying in the most delightful way. It's the kind of sandwich that leaves you feeling fully content without being overwhelmed—just like a genuine Italian meal should. The dish has a depth and heartiness that speaks volumes about the quality of the ingredients and the attention given to its preparation.

What makes Munch A Sub truly special isn't just the food and the camaraderie it fosters. You can sense the locals' love for this place, a snug haven where folks gather for a quick nosh or a leisurely lunch, reconnecting with friends over a shared passion for authentic Italian flavors.

If you're seeking a spot that not only serves delectable, substantial sandwiches but also offers a welcoming ambiance that feels like a second home, Munch A Sub is the place to visit. Regardless of whether you're a frequent patron or a first-time guest, the food and the ambiance will entice you to return time and time. Don't let this gem slip by—this is the kind of establishment that transforms a simple meal into a...

Cozy place, but accommodating. I hade the #38, and yes even ordering off the menu has been made simple, so koodos for that. The #38 is a Ruben corn beef and swiss with sour kraut and thousand island dressing. Nicely prepared at just the right temperature. The corn beef was melt in your mouth, as it should be. Fast and friendly service. The dining area and kitchen was clean and organized. Prices are fair. Parking is a bit cramped as they share it with several other business tucked into a small strip mall type setting. Just off Hacienda on Cameron st. Not really visible untill you turn on to Cameron, but not to hard to find. Besides, if your using Google, you should be able to activate Google maps and it will take you right to it.

11.5.20 Alright...do you guys and gals already know that Munch A Sub is already my fav lunch spot. As I have said before, I feel like a part of the family. But today Ms. Becky totally blew me away with her meatloaf special. Meatloaf beautifully cook with an amazing taste by itself...oh but wait! She serves it on a fresh sub roll with mayo lettuce and tomato and an awesome chipotle sauce. Absolutely was the best! Make sure you try it the next time you are in, even if it isn't the special that day, you will not be...
