As a relatively nearby resident (only two miles away) and therefore a potential regular whoâd love to see this place thrive, nevertheless I gotta be honest in the hopes that this place will take good-natured feedback to heart. Therefore, the bottom line: this place is trying TOO hard to be âInsta-sharableââŚbut to its detriment!!! While, as a marketing consultant by profession, I absolutely assert that itâs great that most places these days need to be âshareableâ (that is: âremarkableâ, a la Seth Godinâs books âPurple Cowâ and âUnleashing The Ideavirusâ, which happens to be the book that defined the concept of âgoing viralâ), I believe this place has ended up attracting too many tourists (and, frankly, not the best kindâŚcase in point: I smell and see outside A LARGE percentage of people who are taking advantage of Nevadaâs legal recreational pot smoking laws), and is therefore turning off the bread-and-butter neighborhood regulars who will make this place sustainable and successful over the long haul. Why?!?ââŚBecause itâs trying to be a âbreakfast/brunch day clubâ with its loud bumpinâ tunes and Insta-shareable photo-opps like its Giant Mimosas that end up attracting âlower-valueâ people who are here mainly to party and be obnoxious rather than loyal customers who are here to be âhigh-valueâ people attracting and interacting-with and mutually-attracting similarly high-value people, thereby making this a true high-value place to return to again and again! SOOOoooâŚmy advice?âŚat the risk of being âinsensitiveâ, nevertheless: downsize the mimosas so drunkenness decreases, turn down the volume of the tunes a little bit (and choose classier tunes that arenât so âghettoâ or âethnicâ, for there are THOUSANDS of STILL fun, danceable, upbeat tunes that arenât âghettoâ or âethnicâ); clean up and âclass-upâ the place so higher-value people are attracted; and then continue the otherwise great service and food so the best regulars are attracted and incentivized to return! Then this place will be spot-on!!!!!!!!!! (FINAL POINT: As I sit outside the place typing all this, a group of people have come outside, âcontinuing the partyâ in the parking spaces out front of the place, pouring alcoholic drinks even to underage drinkers out of the back of an SUV, and are carrying-on loudly and pulling out of their parking spaces, all clearly DUI, being a nuisance to everyone else in the parking lot and neighboring homes. Therefore, Iâm left with the conclusion that, not only is Mimosas Gourmet not conducting their OWN business with wisdom for the long haul, butâON TOP OF THATâTHEY ARE CURRENTLY BEING A BAD NEIGHBOR AND THEREFORE ARE A BAD CORPORATE CITIZEN IN THE COMMUNITY!!!âŚNevertheless, if they follow my advice above: itâs definitely not too late due to the otherwise great food and service this...
Read moreIf I could rate a place negative stars I would do so here. From start to finish this is one of the WORST dining experiences myself and the 3 others I was with have ever had. Upon entering, we noticed a sign that said 4% charge for non-chipped card transactions. This should have been our warning to turn around and go somewhere else. Yes, this was the first red flag. The second red flag we should have noticed was the armed security guard posted just inside the door for a 20 or so table breakfast/lunch spot. We were seated and greeted immediately by the gentleman that also cleaned the tables (busser). He brought us 4 waters and told us our server would be right with us. This place was maybe half full and had more service staff milling around than tables sat in the restaurant. I thought, "Nice, a local small business that isn't short staffed, I'm happy they are doing well. This should be great." I spoke too soon. Flash forward 20 minutes later of us waiting for that server to come by, a manger stops and says "Someone will be with you shortly." Our orders were taken, drinks delivered promptly. (Good sign, maybe it was just bad timing on the wait to get our order) 10 minutes later 3 of the 4 orders show up. 5 minutes go by we flag someone down to find out where the 4th order (a club sandwich with fries) was. They return and say that its "on its way..." 5 more minutes and it finally arrives. Now the food. On one order the eggs were ordered over medium but came out fried hard, toast was burnt and hashbrowns cold and raw in the middle. Another order the hash browns were only cooked on one side, raw on the other to the middle. The third dish (a waffle) was perfect. The club sandwich, mind you a cold club sandwich that took 20 minutes, was OK at best. 2-3 strips of bacon, some white unripe tomatoes, random lettuce (bibb and romaine) and maybe 3 slices of deli meat. Whatever, it happens. But the fries were still raw. Like cut and thrown into the fryer for 2 minutes, hard and tasting like raw potatoes. Remember the sign on the door about chipped cards? Even though I had and used my chipped card, I was still charged an additional fee as though I didn't. In summary, stay as far away as possible from this place that you can. I'm all for supporting local and small businesses, but this is one that does not deserve that support. Take my advice and stay away. You would be better off eating your meal from the Arby's dumpster across the...
Read moreI heard about this place from my wife. She had them delivered before through Uber Eats. I wanted breakfast food, so she suggested we go to Mimosas so I could try them. We were not disappointed.
I had just two sides, bacon and home made country potatoes [potatoes, green peppers, onion]. Both were excellent. One piece of bacon was only slightly under compared to the other three, but it didn't matter. It's flavor profile paired so well with the potatoes.
My wife had the herb chicken skillet, which was the home made country potatoes with the addition of some excellent chicken, asparagus, fresh garlic and a little rosemary. Everything was hot, fresh and tasty as could be. You could tell that it was all cooked in the same skillet. Now that normally comes with eggs on it, my wife had the eggs on the side which worked out nicely.
The drinks come in mason jars which was a nice touch as they kept everything cold and allowed for a nice grip compared to smooth glasses. The service was fast, friendly, and professional. We even got a churro waffle on the house to try which was unexpected and pleasant. I am not a big person on going out to eat, but this was $30 well spent. I would easily go back again the next time I crave some breakfast food.
Now, there were some negatives, but understand, from MY standpoint, these negatives DO NOT TAKE AWAY from Mimosas at all. The portions are quite large, and the price justifies the amount of food. My wife and I could have easily split her skillet chicken and been full. The biscuits are huge, and way to much for one person in my opinion. The waffle while tasty, was sweet for me. Cinnamon, sugar, syrup and vanilla ice cream on top. It would make a nice desert though for a group of 2-4 people.
If you have never been, try it if you like breakfast/lunch. If you go with a group, split the food that you all might like or do like. You will have plenty of food to go around.
This is a local restaurant that I think should be supported and people should venture too. It had an atmosphere that felt more relaxed and less chain oriented than a lot of other breakfast and lunch places. Give them a shot, ask questions while you are there, you could be pleasantly surprised. And when you are done, leave an honest review on Yelp, Google, or whichever outlet you choose. I think their ratings justified the price and experience.
