Dr. Yun Li — Local services in Spring

Dr Yun Li, female Attending Dr w Methodist Willowbrook appears insecure & not caring about her patients life. She pretends on first day to listen to concerns as you advocate for your loved one, in my case my 83 yr old mother w Alz. who came into the hospital intubated, double pneumonia, congestive heart failure, kidney failure & increased blood sugar. The second day Dr Li saw her, she begins talking discharge, as I tell her mom is still having attacks of shortness of breath & trouble breathing. I explains vitals present ok, but if you look at her, you clearly see she isn’t. We discuss her past heart attack & possible need for heart cath. She either isn’t fit to truly diagnose a severely ill person or she doesn’t care, bc she was still moving to discharge. As a Medicare patient, I let her know if she did, I would appeal thru Medicare(the hospital actually gives you a paper that gives you the directions to do this & number bc it’s your right to have a review if you don’t agree) Dr Li says she doesn’t like being threatened & felt I was threatening her when I said I would appeal. It is one’s right to appeal & I know my mom & her health well. I’m her medical POA. I had asked her for 2 more days-she claimed my mom needed physical therapy now to get stronger. Well of course she does bc she hasn’t even walked 5 steps to bathroom. And mom was fully ambulatory just 10 days ago. She’s not ready for discharge to rehab yet. Has alz, still short of breath w chest pain even though pneumonia & congestive heart failure are clearing. I told her something is still wrong. She appeared to really not care, just move her out after seeing her less than 2 days, less than 20 mins total. I try, but to no avail to explain mom had a heart attack 5 yrs ago w no pain, moms vitals looked fine just before she crashed & was put on life support 10 days ago, I had to call patient relations to get discharge stopped. Her cardiologist office ordered another test that was needed so no way could she even be discharged before it was completed & reviewed. 2 days later moms cardiologist did a heart cath on mom and finds 95% blockage in an artery & puts a stent in. Had I not appealed Dr Li’s decision to discharge my mom for immediate skilled nursing with Physical therapy, mom would have been discharged & would’ve most likely died of a heart attack with the blockage she had. She needed to be listened to about her chest pain & still having shortness of breath. Mom would verbally say Help me, I feel like I’m dying & can’t breathe & Dr Li would say, well her vitals don’t look bad. Yes I know, cause mom goes from 0-100 in 2 seconds. I’m her caregiver, I know bc I watched her have 1 heart attack & 2 respiratory arrests being put on life support, after presenting with very few symptoms before almost dying prior. But Dr Li wouldn’t listen. I did ask for and receive another attending physician who was fabulous. Every other physician at Meth Willowbrook was fabulous, but Dr Li appeared to go on some power trip if you disagree with her. She certainly doesn’t have a patients best interest at heart & under her decision to discharge my mom, I believe I would’ve been planning a funeral 2 days later, not having a heart cath & stent to save her life. Clearly she’s a Dr who didn’t appear to care about doing what was best for a patient, but ready to push a sick patient out the door. I wouldn’t trust her to care for any living creature. Days after I asked for another attending, & after mom’s stent surgery, she posted lies about me saying I was aggressive & she was afraid of me. Yet, she didn’t call security. Lied saying I demanded a Neuro consult when I told her moms dr called & asked why she hadn’t been consulted yet due to ALZ & wanted to be consulted before any discharge.Lied saying no one told her mom was still having pain. I showed her a video of mom having an episode of pain/short of breath. But still says no one let her know. Lied saying nurses didn’t tell her they witnessed these episodes, yet 5 nurses wrote it in their notes. I filed...
