Olatee African Mart — Local services in Spring

So I don't write many reviews but this is the 2nd time I've been disappointed with this place.

It is overpriced for the quality and quantity of food you get or maybe it was just my food.IDK but there were only 2 pieces of meat and not much egusi. Also they put cow hide(I think that's what it was) underneath the egusi. It made it look like there was a decent amount of egusi but there wasn't. Only a few handfuls.

Way too much oil. So much I threw up what little food i ate. The rest went in the trash. Ask for extra napkins if you get the egusi to soak up the oil.

Too much pastry on the fish pie and not enough filling.

Don't plan on eating in as the ot place to sit and ear is in a storage area. I can't believe the young man even showed it to me. I heard that they are opening a cafe nearby so that might help but I still would t go back.

My food tasted like the oil had been burnt.

This is the second time I ordered this dish and threw it away. I had the same issue with the oil and it tasting burnt the first time around. I thought it was just because I came at closing. Nope.

BTW... I eat egusi at least once a week from another local place and it is superb! Same price but better quality and larger portion sizes and nore protein options. I just thought I'd give this place another chance because it's closer. I would try another dish but I've already wasted $50+...

This place is not good at all the food is dry and overly priced I went in to get my husband Jello fries and Suya the Suya, made my stomach upset I paid 15.99 & they gave the smallest portion for 15.99 I should have gotten my money worth I did not I didn’t realize it until I got home they are very overpriced and very stingy with their food they will never get my money again but that’s not all when the lady at the front made my plate of jell-O fries she didn’t even want to fill the plate up when I said ma’am that’s not enough she gave me the dirtiest look then looked at the guy that was standing behind her as if she wanted to say something to me she charged me double to add more jell-O fries I have been to multiple African restaurants and the beef or chicken always came with the Jell-O fries but she charge me a extra 4$ dollars just for one small piece of beef meat if they keep treating their customers this way, they will not be in...

I visited Olatee today at 1:34 … First time here.. … First when i walked in I ask where do I order my food.. The heavy set man said right here at the counter with him.. He tried to multitask which the lady in front of me was mad because she was waiting for a long time.. He tried to take my order but I said no handle her then take me .. So I order fufu egusi and meat pie… i read good reviews on Google and Tik Tok about this place … My meat pie was good .. I did not like my fufu or chicken egusi… I was soooooo disappointed… The chicken was so dry… However I’ll go buy spices but no more food… God bless this place because there was so many customers coming in and out … The young guy with the dreads was the sweetest his name was Asiaih I spelled his name so wrong .. He had on Gucci flip flops .. He smiled and had very good...
