A couple of weeks ago my self and my children were in Ross shopping and one of the staff accused my kids of trying to steal her cell phone. Without asking any question's. The cell phone was laying in a cart and my children picked up the device and brought it to me once I evaluated the device it look like it was garbage it didnāt light up the screen was cracked etc. So after evaluating the device I thought that maybe it was a kids toy they may had left laying around. Once she approached my kids they immediately gave her the device back but I was under the impression that she was fussing at them about moving a cart that was blocking the isle. Remember you state laws says all store must maintain 36 inches of clearance for the disabled. So we shouldnāt have had to move the cart out of the isle to even be able to discover the cellphone.Once I figured it was about the device I advised the lady that I knew about the device and she proceeded to argue me up and down saying I never saw the device because I wasnāt watching my kids. I explained to her what device looked like etc. she continued to go on and walked into my face as if she wanted to fight me. Of course management arrived I was asked to leave the store. When I asked why Frank the store manager said it was because we had a argument in the middle of his store he didnāt even attempt to ask what was going on. The lease he couldāve did was verify what the device looked like so she could admit she was wrong. By saying I never saw the device when I did, my only mistake was not instructing the kids to turn it in because I thought it was broken. But defending my children is my God given right as their mother. She shouldāve ask who their mother was and handled the situation with me. Their asset protection worker put his hands on me as I was escorted out the building and I was highly upset because we did nothing wrong. Not to mention he is asset protection and not security so why would you touch me anyway especially if Iām not being combative. Not to mention I had 500$ worth of clothing in my buggy, they denied allowing me to purchase. Contacted corporate they said they would call back never did. Ross is my favorite store of all time but after this experience Iām never going there again and Frank obviously needs to be retrained as a manager because your employee was out of line. And clearly it was careless act to leave a cell phone just laying around on a abandon cart. Also the customer should be the store first priority but clearly he was aggravated by the school crowd and could careless....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne star solely based on customer service. I love Ross & this particular location has a pretty good selection of items, especially clothing. I was greeted by lost prevention, the guy was friendly. I went in to make an even exchange (if they had the same item in a different size) As I walked up to the counter to ask the associate to hold my return (which was bagged) behind the counter just so I wouldn't be walking around the store with a Ross bag she grabs a handful of clothes & says, "I'll be right back" ......... ok. So I'm waiting & waiting & waiting. & finally the loss prevention guy asks if I needed help & said to just take my bag with me. I find the item in a bigger size & shop a little. I go to the fitting room & the associate did NOT greet me, speak, nothing. I spoke & said I had 2 items, she gives me the number card, points to the fitting room & walks off ...... okay. so i'm finally ready to check out. i asked an associate just to clarify which line i was supposed to stand in because i know they have 1 line for returns & 1 for purchases. she points to the line. a RUDE associate (didn't get her name but her associate number is 859289, hispanic, maybe 40's, thick curly hair) tells me to switch lines. i do so. & i'm speaking to my daughter in a LOW tone "i wonder why the other associate told me to wait in that line if it was the wrong one" she answers me "because you have a return don't you?! so you wait in this line!" rudely. i tell her that i wasn't talking to her & that i didn't mind waiting in the new line but another associate told me to wait in the first line. she shrugs her shoulders, apologizes & proceeds with her checkout. she gets done with me & calls for the next person & the lady told her that she just wanted to put some items on layaway but wasn't sure what line to stand in & apologized. the associate smacked her lips, rolled her eyes & said, "come on" reluctantly like the customer was getting on her nerves. just the whole vibe of the store was OFF & everyone was acting like they didn't wanna be at work today. don't recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDon't bother going if it's close to closing time. They had 1 SLOW cashier working and after I waited in line for 10 minutes while he checked out another customer the manager told me I would have to come back in the morning to purchase my items because it was too much to check out at closing time. I've worked in retail and shopped tons of stores til closing and NEVER once have I been denied my purchase because it was "too much" for them to ring up at closing time...here's an idea, get better cashiers that can handle large purchases in a timely manner. And yes I know it sucks when you have to stay 5-10 minutes late because you had a customer with a CART full you had to check out at closing time, but it's RETAIL, that's just the way the dice rolls sometimes, you suck it up and get over it or FIND ANOTHER JOB. In this case the store lost probably around $600 purchase because when the manager told me I had to come back in the morning to make my purchase, NOPE, you can go ahead and put that whole cart of merchandise back on the shelves because I won't be coming back. I'm an impulse shopper and I always buy more than I plan on but I don't NEED to spend my money in a store where the manager can't be bothered with checking me out at closing. Ps...I could have checked myself out at the self checkout in 1/3 of the time the cashier took...but that's not allowed because I had more than 10 items. Then I suggest you get better cashiers that can handle checking out a large purchase at closing time! Or just keep losing sales like you did with me. I won't be going back to this location because you get 1 first impression with me and you sure...
