Today I had horrible experience at Red Roof in Spring, Texas. Yacelli or whatever her name is, since she doesn't wear a name tag and her customer service skills are garbage. She works the front desk there. When I arrived upon checking in on 10/7/22, she made me wait thirty minutes before checking into my hotel room. Her reason being my reservation doesn't show in her system. I asked her to call Red Roof's customer service line. I even have my confirmation number. I didn't complain I sat in my car and waited. On 10/9/22 I decided to extend my reservation for week, because I relocated from New York. I went down to front desk early this morning around 8am in the morning to pay for a week with a senior discount the amount was $442.02. The same woman at the front desk became argumentative and combative with me. She told me she couldn't give me the senior rate after I showed her my sixty-four year old mother's ID. I told her I wanted to speak to her manager. Her response was I am the manager and you don't have to stay here. She threw the key card back at me (check your cameras). I told her, that her customer service skills are horrible. She should be mindful of how disrespectful she is and that there is nothing but a plexy glass window and a locked door between us. I even asked her if my bed sheets could be changed with clean linens and fresh towels. She told me, "no, because there is only two housekeepers and there is sooo many rooms to clean", but I did see four housekeepers walk into the building while standing at the plexi glass window. I told her I don't have to take this disrespect from her and I will check out of my room. Mister or Miss Patel if you're the general manager of this franchise, then extraordinary customer service should be a priority. I understand no cares these days, and running a hotel is a money making business. The woman at the front acts like she owns the building. She acts as though she can't be replaced. She acts though she can't be doing housekeeping either or not have a job at all. She really needs to...
Read more$400 a week to live in pure squalor. It is evident that money is not being put into the upkeep of the property or pest control. This is a Red Roof Inn yet the doors aren't red. They require a contract to ensure you pick up your dog waste, however it is not enforced as dog waste is in large supply. The ice machine was out of order. The room door did not meet the seal, thus rain and bugs seep under the door and into the room. Once I opened the door, I was met with a pungent odor. It was a mix of mold and paint. I coughed for the entire week. Roaches could be found on the bathroom floor and inside the tub. The water pressure was so low, I could not properly shower. None of my 2,000 parts were wet simultaneously. I am glad I brought my own towels as theirs were soiled. Housekeeping was limited to spot cleaning, as the walls, lamp shade, and furniture was visibly soiled. On my second day, I was locked out of my room because the housekeeper stated I had a snake. I, in fact, have a bioactive plant terrarium, with nothing but plants and a skull. On my last day, the clerk told me that the manager said I cannot have plants in the room. Plants!?! I had to inform him several times that I was in fact not staying there. The room was nasty and I was extremely uncomfortable. The location was good, as it is close to Walmart and other...
Read moreI haven’t stayed in a cheap hotel for 25 years because of never needing a room for just one night. Man, how things have changed. It’s been a month since that night and we still haven’t recovered from health issues (rashes and swollen lymph nodes - with bringing bedbugs home with us).
I assume, since we had to bring our very small dog, we were put in a room where dogs were allowed as there were scratch marks on inside of bathroom door and other damage you could see done by large dogs. There was moldy, dirt filled, peeling paint on the windowsill. Chipped and marked up paint everywhere. Bathtub did not look cleaned.
Upon first entrance, the smell of cleaning chemicals was so toxic, we could hardly breathe. Thankfully, we brought some essential oils to hide the smell - but that didn’t hinder the effects of sleeping in such a toxic soup.
Do not recommend this hotel. Don’t care how much money you’re trying to save. There will be a price to pay in your health.
UPDATE: The response from management is quite amusing. Talking about pest control only. If you kept the rooms/hotel clean - pests wouldn't be that big of an issue. Did they look at the pictures?? They...
