I came to this establishment today 5/24/25 2am and was not able to leave until 3am. The environment is typically great, but this was not my experience with the shift manager Rhonda Burnett, who caused unnecessary chaos. First, there was a young man directly in front of me in the drive-thru line who appeared to have passed out in his vehicle from being under the influence. My order had to be placed at the window due to it, where I notified the cashier of the situation. I was asked to move my vehicle to the yellow solid line and wait. 5 mins turned to 30 mins as I witnessed several employees emerge from the side door to try and wake up the young man, but it proved unsuccessful. I called into the restaurant at about 2:30am and inquired about my order and advised of the long wait time. The shift manager, Rhonda Burnett, took my call and told me," I would just have to wait, and she needs to check on my order," with no apologies for the inconvenience. Wait?! I've already been waiting 30 mins, is what i told her, and I requested to be compensated via gift card. Rhonda Burnett advised she wouldn't be doing that, and I can have a cookie, brownie, or a pie as if I'm some sort of lap dog. I respectfully declined and advised I do not want that and requested my alternative method of a gift card. Another 5-7 mins passed, and a young lady brought me my food. She stated, " they put the extra stuff you asked for in the bag, I think you asked for a pie." I immediately advised, I distinctively told Rhonda I didn't want that, so why would she forcefully put stuff in my bag that I did not request? I asked her to have Rhonda Burnett come outside. I was advised to wait so she could go get her. It took Rhonda 10+ mins to come outside, who came out with one of the nastiest attitudes as she shoved open the side door. I told Rhonda that at this point, I just want a refund for the inconvenience and poor service. Rhonda tells me I need to give the burger back (I'M ASSUMING SO SHE CAN EAT IT), or she will not give me a refund. I respectfully declined because if that's your method of resolve, then being customer oriented is not her focus or strong suit. Why would this 65 year old woman think that after 40+ mins of waiting that the best course of action was to take back the food and then provide a refund? The logical resolve could've been a simple apology and a refund. Rhonda refused to be diplomatic, so I came inside and requested my refund. She wouldn't look me in my face but kept saying she wouldn't give me my refund unless she had the burger. Im assuming police presence made her feel confident in her stance to not provide customer service, but I refused to accept this as treatment. I asked for corporates' number, and she acted as if she didn't have it and couldn't find it and gave me someone's personal cell of 346-528-7742. Most folks are diligent enough to know that no corporate number has that area code. When I asked her about it, she said that's the number she was told to just give me to get me off her back, and it should be for HR. I filed a complaint and am considering escalating legally for other reasons I will not share. Her behavior is unacceptable and WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. I refuse to play games with anyone who clearly hates their job, has nothing to lose, should not be in customer service, unhappy with their personal life, and brings that demeanor to work. (IT IS CLEAR THAT MS. RHONDA IS A HEAVY PIE, COOKIE, BROWNIE EATER), but it is insulting to forcefully require me to take a pie as compensation when I respectfully declined and shouldn't have to provide insight on why I refused. My decline to the offer should've been accepted, and an alternative method should've been provided promptly! The food I ordered was not eaten as I do not trust it was made with good intent. The pie that Rhonda shares an EVIDENT LOVE for was not eaten either. I am POSITIVE I will get what I deserve as a loyal customer, and I look forward to speaking to corporate...
Read moreI will never return. Over the past decade I have mostly stopped eating fast food and prioritized more local and ethical options. Although, in the past few years I ate Whataburger a handful of times when out with friends, as it used to be my favorite. But after eating at 20550 I-45, Spring, TX 77373 location in Houston I am totally done. I walked into a nearly empty restaurant, except for a tattered homeless man at the drink station, frantically stuffing a plastic bag full of honey packets. When I approached the counter there was no greeting and the employees seemed annoyed at my presence. I ordered what a regular #1 combo, and was handed a Styrofoam cup - lovely to see Whataburger has no concern for the environment. I filled the cup with lemonade, at least it was supposed to be, because the drink I got tasted very strange. I then sat down and tried to scoot further into the seat and realized it was all sticky. Gross. While waiting I realized they never asked about condiments, like they used to. I ordered the burger and toppings how I wanted but they did not ask about mustard, mayo, etc. or double checked the side I wanted. I would have changed things from the default options if prompted. Then the food arrived... As I chewed the first bite I was struck with a thought, 'that's not worth the $11 I just paid.' It was cold, and tasted so unbelievably cheap. I know $11 does not go very far in 2024 but other restaurants do the impossible and make it work, while using organic beef and recyclable containers no less! Whataburger is awful. Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere, done in a wasteful and...
Read moreWHATABURGER, WHAT THE HECK!? Ok, so I got my order around 8:18, but this guy at the second window gives my order to someone else in front of me (and you know how the people know that they have the wrong order, open it up and notice it’s not their order?) and when we got to the window, THIS GUY HAS THE AUDACITY to pass our order to us as if it wasn’t tampered with by the costumers in front who gave it back to the man. Now we had to wait Another 7 minutes to get a new one. Time goes by quick (thankfully) and I get my new burger. I ask for Mayo and so he brings it and drops it in the bag. Everything seemed to be in order and now when I opened up my mayo I FOUND WHAT APPEARS TO BE MOLD IN MY MAYO. And I took pictures to be sure. Clearly they haven’t cleaned out their mayo in a long time (and who knows, anywhere in that fast food service.) and they had incompetent staff that try to give contaminated food, can’t clean out mayo, and mix up orders of their costumers. Either the staff either isn’t being trained properly or the higher ups aren’t coming around to check on them anymore. Don’t bother coming to this Whataburger, you’re probably going to get some food poisoning from your mayo or burger. Either hire more competent staff, sanitize the either establishment, and have the higher ups check in on their work or shut this place down completely and build something else. For me, I...
