Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Springfield Township

I am beyond embarrassed and angry right now. My daughters and I bought the kids something to eat and sat in the cafe to eat. I left long enough to change one of the baby's dirty diaper. In that time, another child decided he couldn't hold it anymore, and my oldest daughter took him to the restroom leaving my youngest (adult) daughter to watch the remaining children for a couple minutes. While I'm in the middle of changing this diaper, I get a phone call. It's my youngest daughter saying the manager (Elaine) needed me to show receipts of everything. My daughter explained that my receipts are emailed to me. This manager demanded to see the receipts at once. So I finished changing diaper and continued to the cafe and showed her the receipts. She said she wasn't worried about the food, she was worried about the drinks the drinks that were purchased at another store and bought in by the kids. I explained that the police officer that was on guard there watched them carry them in. I found out before we left, the spring water wantwa even a brand they carry. Several people walked by as she mean mugged us while pacing back and forth and then demanding receipts. This was embarrassing. I pay for my merchandise. We're there several times a week ~ enough that the workers know us. I will be contacting the Corp office tomorrow. This isn't the first time this manager was rude to us. This was completely uncalled for. I wouldn't have even given one star, but I didn't have any...

Has liquor department. Large variety of food options compared to other Giant Eagles. The deli department was an absolute mess. I had 1 girl who cut the meat I ordered. She did a GREAT job! Then the girl who took my order for sliced cheese just couldn't handle her job at all. She was all over the place. In & out of the area confused. Then she didn't even pay attention to the 2 types of cheese I asked for (New York sharp cheddar & brick cheese). She cut up something totally different than what I requested. After watching her struggle for over 10 minutes I walked away with my kids. A man from the deli department proceeded to track me down 5 isles later a bit upset with me that I walked away. He yelled Mam, mam from an isle over. He held out the bagged cheese & said here you go mam! I said no thank you I do not want it & I need to get going. He persisted with me & said well isn't this what you ordered? He held up horseradish cheese! I told him No it's not at all what I ordered! He offered to cut the right kind but I told him once again no thank you! I like the store but won't visit that deli...

I come to this store often and normally never have any issues but today i came to buy gluten free waffle mix. For all those who don’t know giant eagle has a gluten free section not to mention labels on everything in the store that’s gluten free which I love by the way. Well this time there were boxes of gluten free waffle mix lined up and i grabbed one finished shopping and came home. I make the waffles and luckily my husband who has a sever gluten allergy looked at the box and noticed it was not gluten free. I would have said it was my fault for not looking well if it were just one box sitting there that someone may have misplaced but there were a whole row of them the shelf was stocked with this brand of waffle mix. I’m just glad my husband didn’t eat it and I for one need to be more careful when purchasing gluten free items and also Giant Eagle employees need to be more careful when stocking...
