I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have found Oakwood Village Nursing Home. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by Starr. Starr is absolutely amazing and very informative and passionate about Oakwood. The staff is truly exceptionalâevery nurse and caregiver goes above and beyond to ensure that residents feel comfortable, cared for, and valued. The facility itself is clean, bright, and inviting, with a range of activities that keep residents engaged and social. The communal spaces are lovely, providing a great atmosphere for residents to socialize and enjoy each other's company. Additionally, the level of personalized care is outstanding. The staff takes the time to get to know each residentâs unique needs and preferences, which makes a world of difference. Communication is also excellent; I always feel informed about any patients that I have contacted Starr about. Most importantly, I can see the genuine compassion that the staff has for the residents. They treat each individual with dignity and respect, creating a true sense of community. I highly recommend Oakwood Village Nursing Home to anyone seeking a nurturing and supportive environment for their loved ones. It truly feels like a home...
Read moreOakwood Village sits on 72 acres and is a beautiful campus from the moment you pull into the drive during any given Ohio season. My Dad was there and passed in 2011 and my Mom currently resides in the Assisted Living but started in our Independent Living. I love that it is truly one stop shop having a continuous care model of Independent Living to Assisted Living/secured Memory Care and Long-term Nursing Care. Overall, I am pleased with the care. I also believe in being an involved family member which I think is crucial when you decide to place a loved one in a facility. Everyone from dining services, maintenance, housekeeping, nursing, activities/transportation and the administrative staff truly care. Does it help that I work here, yes. I have invested 29 years of my life at Oakwood Village. I have seen changes but that is healthcare. We have staff that have years of experience in our building in every department. I think with every facility there is certainly room for improvement. Every facility has its flaws. Pick the one that is best for you and your families needs. If you need to place a loved one in for a short term rehab stay in our private suites or in search of that forever home in long term care call me I am...
Read moreThis is the worst place I have ever been to and I did my clinicals here when I was in nursing school. I have pictures of bruising everywhere after my mother has been transferred to a hospital after being âaggressiveâ as she was most likely defending herself from the looks of the bruising the location and the different stages of healing. I am a Registered Nurse and we after reporting it and getting a call from the hospital notifying us of the bruising? Stated the bruises were not on her BEFORE her visit with us. Poppycock! My mother is a minister and I have photos of the bruises the lack of hygiene and audio of abusive behavior towards myself. Do NOT send your family to this PLACE!!!! There was also an incident where my mother was misplaced for several minutes and she almost eloped her first day had I not gotten there she would have been seriously injured as she has dementia. Shame ON YOU! Paula? I knew you were a terrible nurse when you shared that you donât believe in getting the COVID vaccine and you went back to work twice without staying off on federally regulated and mandatory quarantine the very first time we met. God help these residents please keep them all safe! In Jesus...
