The worst experience ever in my life, was accused of stealing by the self check out employee. First we didn't want one meat because it looked grey and old and she stated "well that's why it was discounted"... we handed her that meat to put back and she stared at us the entire time. I made sure to give eye contact with her since she didn't want to look at the other non minority people at self checkout. At the end she asked us multiple times if we scanned the meat. I repeated my self yes multiple times. Called to make a complaint with the store manager and she basically racially profiled my family and I. The manager admitted to having a "habitual" thief... yet do we look like the thief? Offered the cashier my receipt to show proof and she didnt want it. Manager admitted yes that is awkward and only apologized for it being awkward.... yet couldnt give us compensation for the racism just a "we will talk to her" and offered to return the meat... you cant undue these racial unjust life experiences nor can you give us back the time we wasted. We work in retail and you don't treat your customers that way! Thanks for making us feel "wanted" at our local Big Y after spending almost $100 in meat... will be going to Stop and Shop. ALDIS. Arnolds Meats... Anywhere but here now. Also made a call to their corporate headquarters and left a voicemail. HOPING to get a call back.

Coziest store I’ve been in. A little pricy for student budget but I will never stop going there :) the fruits and vegetables taste much better than costco or stop and shop, it’s a big difference. Always organized.

Love this place. Have been going there for 16 years now. (Mostly on a daily basis). Freshly remodelled. Very nice employees, especially Sharon she's such a sweet person. 👍

I shop at this Big Y more than any other in the area and I love it, which is why I am giving this review 3 stars instead of 1. I have never had an issue here other than a when picking up food I have pre ordered(last time we were told it was never ordered and had to drive back and forth to the store twice to find out it was there all along), or in this instance just now, been spoken to over the phone in the manner I was. I just called to order a large 6 Foot grinder which I was immediately told by the obviously very annoyed person on the other end that “they no longer do”. There was no other option given to me or even assistance provided by this gentleman, just me on the other end apologizing and stating the menu I had found online still showed it. His response was “We don’t do the 6 foot or 3 foot grinders anymore” again with no offer of what my other options were. So I asked about the 30 inch and if I could do three meats, which this person was clearly annoyed that I would even ask such a question, nevermind ask for a cheese other than American on said sandwich. I realized, again from looking at this old online menu, that this grinder only serves 10 people, so I then asked for two. His response… “You want two?! You do know there is a big storm coming on Saturday, right?”. So he had no problem not helping me with my order in the beginning and now is making it incredibly obvious that he doesn’t want to do it at all. Then upon reading my order back it was wrong and when I thanked HIM for his assistance I got a “yeah” and he hung up. I work in customer service by trade and NEVER write negative reviews, but this was too much. I will be calling back to cancel my order. I would rather not have someone who could care less is could be bothered about doing their JOB with a simple request making the food I will be...

We pay retail and we all go to self checkout for a quick in and out. We fed these evil coporations for years and with those savings they input it into technology that makes hard working individuals feel like criminals spending almost 1k a month. The sensor went off when I reached for my wallet to pay. Hire people, give them good wages, lower prices in that retail cost per unit since your saving with self checkout.

Update x 2: My wife is constantly being judged and accused of atealing. We spend alot of money here for our family each month. Saturday she was at self checkout, scanned an item put it in the carriage then a lady at the register closest to self check says "Um didnt you forgot something". She did not question or look at any other person and other times she has had people looking at her scan each item double checking. These people are customer service NOT security. They need to stop profiling..... Udate: Dont judge a book by its cover, they may be more than they appear, like be related to a huge vendor. Ps, you have a tall skinny male associate w/ curly short hair, goatee telling callers that there is a front and back manager and after the complaint is relayed that the individual on the phone is also a manager. Instead of focusing on the issue this individual wanted to know my name. Yes you knew the issue was you and you made up crap.....

Can you PLEASE remind the service counter that cashing out 1 customer is more important than finishing thier...
