I’m leaving this review as I would any other, about the food or the service. The food can’t be remarked on since my party didn’t get that far. We arrived to the busy ihop located at 270 Cooley St, Springfield, MA 01128 where we walked in and waited in line to put in our information to the hostess who seemed very nice, organized, and had a great attitude. When we arrived to the podium we put in our info for a table of three and were informed that the wait was approximately 30 minutes. We were all ok with the wait but decided it was best to wait in our vehicle, due to the high volume of other hungry customers also waiting patiently to be seated. Since we decided to wait in our vehicle we gave the hostess our number to call/text whenever our turn to be seated was up next. We waited the full thirty minutes and we were wondering if we were forgotten as a joke due to the restaurant being busy and people were coming in and leaving often. At the forty minute mark we were growing concerned but didn’t want to come off as rude coming into the establishment when it was busy. Finally at the forty-five minute mark one of our party decided to kindly ask if they had an idea how much longer the wait would be. When our party member returned we could tell something had happened. She asked the hostess politely what the possible future wait time and she asked what the name was of our party. The name was given and the hostess lost our name as well as the number we provided to contact us. Ok mistakes happen, right, as I’ve previously mentioned it WAS busy. The hostess also informed our party member that we may come in and it may be an additional 5 minute wait. So we walked in and seated ourselves in the waiting area. When we walked in she looked at us, said “wait are you that girl that just walked in” looked at her list and said to the three of us,” so party of two?” We looked at each other and corrected her and said party of three. She then proceeds to walk the dining room for the next 5 minutes and took on more customers to her legendary list. You could tell she either was lacking confidence or competence enough to run the front of the house. We waited a few more minutes, looked at each other and decided to walk to the Texas Roadhouse across the street since we could almost guarantee optimal service and quality. If the staff could learn anything it’s definitely from the staff here at Texas Roadhouse where I am writing this horrid experience. Finally some food and quality service that cares about who walks through the door. Thank you for your time and thank you for reading this review. P.S. I’m only leaving one star due to the website requiring at least one star, probably to help what little reputation they need...
Read moreSeveral employees walked by me as I waited at least 15 minutes for someone, anyone, to ask me how many and to be seated. One woman stated she would be right with me as she turned and walked away to help several tables. She was obviously a waitress and was not coming back because I watched her tend to three tables. I had to ask an employee, one who finally came to the entrance, how long the wait was, meanwhile there were at least 10 empty tables. Without a smile, or an apology for ignoring me and all the other people waiting, finally seated me. A waitress told me at least twice that she would be back to take my order. I watched her tell another table the same. And I then waited another 15 minutes for her to return to at least take my drink order. Unfortunately, this is common practice at this location and the main reason why I don’t bother coming in. I was in the area and wanted breakfast so I gave in. Believe me, this will be the last time I spend my money at this location. Not worth it. I come from a customer service era/background and believe wholeheartedly that being polite and acknowledging customers when they walk in is not a lot to ask for. This is a service based industry. I do not blame the employees. It’s management’s responsibility to do better and set the standards for treating customers well. Point blank, period! As I’m sitting in the restaurant typing this, I am able to see 6 separate groups of new potential customers wait as I did, without anyone acknowledging them and taking their party name and provide a wait time. I also watched another party walk out...
Read moreI hardly ever do negative reviews, but today was ridiculous. I took my wife out for breakfast at I Hop…got there at 11am. It looked empty, but we had to sit and wait. We were the first of like 4-5 other families that walked in at that time. We got called up first. One waitress came up and served the couple that was after us. And then everyone one else after that. So we were ignored for about 15 minute after being sat down. Eventually someone named Stephanie came up and took our order. We ordered everything at once . We got our appetizer fairly quick but we intstanly realized that the food was way over cooked. We dealt and just ate the food since we were hungry and not much the complaining type. After that we waited almost an hour for our entrees. We never got checked up on for refills on water or anything. Finally around 12:15 she came up with my breakfast sampler with sunny side up eggs and they were literally raw with the edges white. So I said “excuse me. These aren’t cooked”. Then she said “what you mean”? I’m like “look”…. Showing her with my spoon that I can scoop the clear liquid and pour it back. She said “ that’s how they’re cooked… you said you wanted sunny side up right” after that I said “you know what forget it, I’ll take my bill please” and left. My wife said her chicken and waffles tasted like they were sitting out for a while. Absolutely the worst dining experience ever. The worst part is that I was planning on giving her a...
