First and LAST time I am coming here. It is funny how one bad experience makes someone not want to come back, and that is what happened this afternoon. This old grumpy man was absolutely rude, ignorant, and outright disrespectful! I went to drop off one bag of clothes and a couple of shoes; this is my first time here. I pulled into the front of the building, and there was a car in front. She was having difficulty parking and when she finally parks, I follow right behind. I am welcomed by a young man who was very kind and welcoming. He told me he was able to take our stuff with no problem. Once I finished, I headed back to my car to leave. Now, if you've ever been there yourself, you would know that there is a decent amount of space for one car, but for two to be side by side, it's a little bit concerning that I would be able to squeeze my Crosstrek through next to a minivan. My partner and I waited a little bit and then realized that she had A LOT of stuff in her car. We politely asked if she could either move her car a little bit up or back so that we could leave. The older man who worked there said, "You can't go through!?" with a nasty tone in his voice. I said, "No, we can't." He waddles over to look at the space and says, "You can fit! Just go!" I said, "No" (mind you, I had already tried, and it was a very tight squeeze that I was not comfortable making). He then says, "Well, you're just going to have to wait then!" Then he said some snide comment along the lines of, "She acts like she has a dump truck." I had zero interaction with this man prior to him talking to me like this. If he politely told me it was going to be a couple minutes, this would have panned out a whole lot different. If he is a manager at this establishment, I think that needs to be reviewed. His customer service was horrible and I hope no one has the same interaction as I had with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSoooo as I see on Google they close at 6pm, I still tried to test my faith by going to drop off my donations by 5:55pm and they were still accepting donations š then the best part was I didnāt have to speak to anyone just drop it into a room and go (Iām an introvert so this works out well). Overall my experience was stress free and this is now my go to place for donations.
Btw: I do believe the reviews stated about employees being rude because after I dropped off my donation I pulled up to the end of the driveway to gather myself and set up my gps which took less than 5 minutes, and the employee ran all the way from inside to chase me out the driveway yelling āget outā I looked up to see if there were any cars behind me- NONE. So, Whatās the rush? Itās like they go out their way to be rude, because that was unnecessary. I leave and he literally goes back Inside so itās not even like he needed that spot for anything. Though I didnāt let that ruin my mood/day because some people are just unhappy and choose to take their anger out any chance they get. Iāll still...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWould like to compliment two staff at your Short Hills, NJ location on Morris Avenue, Edwin and Jason. They were both very helpful and kind in accepting our donated goods today. Very professional too. In Edwin's case, we also brought items yesterday within 15-20 minutes of closing, which made him work past closing time at 6pm. We felt badly for him but he still kindly accepted out donation, and was preparing to sort it as per his duties. Goodwill NYNJ should be very proud that they have two hard-working and dedicated staff who represents the best of what the Goodwill Organization stands for--a true...
