I have purchased multiple items from Home Choice. Let's just say after the rude and nasty service I've received with the contract I just took out in January, I will never go back. I'm considering letting the item I purchased go back just so I don't have to deal with the rudeness and asinine behavior of their current employees. I've paid off multiple items in 4 years and have referred a number of people to them, but never again! Buyer beware!
Update 7/31/18: this is what is happening, now....on July 19th, i made a partial payment. I have 2 accounts with home Choice, 1 account, a PlayStation had ONE payment left, the other account, a sofa, carries a bigger balance. I asked that the PlayStation be paid off and that a partial payment be applied to the sofa. I sent my daughter in with the balance of the payment which was $49 on July 26th. As it turns out, the manager did the exact OPPOSITE of what i asked and applied the larger payment to the sofa and the partial payment to the PlayStation, which still should have been taken care of when my daughter paid the balance on my account in the 26th. Now I'm getting noticed that they are trying to repo the PlayStation for non-payment and that i owe them an addition $17.19 above what was already paid or they are taking the PlayStation back... On top of that, they notified my whole apartment building of that fact by posting a notice to pay or return merchandise with my name on it, on my front door in full view of everyone.
If you have anything with Home Choice (don't! if you can avoid it) expect them to be underhanded, expect them to try to screw you out of the merchandise you paid in for over a year but adding fees at the end, so they can repo your stuff. And expect them to violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and Minnesota law by telling every one you have a debt with them. I have reported them to the Minnesota Consumer Protection Agency and an now waiting for their investigation to culminate, then i will probably be taking legal action against Home Choice for the FDCPA violation.
And since it's obvious they don't want my business, they can come pick up the sofa i was purchasing, today. I would rather sit on the floor than give them...
Read moreThis place is a joke. I have three account open with them, never had a missed payment at all. About a year after purchasing my TV from them a small black line started to appear across my TV. Their warranty covers everything but impact. I had them send it in to get it fixed because I was positive it had not been impacted. They told me it had been and it was in the shape of a hook. I was a little upset because there was nothing possible in my house in the shape of a hook that would damage my TV, but whatever accidents happen right? I got my TV back and now, about months later, after the warranty was no longer on the TV, I've noticed it getting increasingly worse. I found out that the line was actually burned into my TV screen. I understand that this is my fault, but I also understand there was nothing in the warranty about burnt screens. So 1.) They obviously lied to me about the damage done to my TV as it was absolutely NOT impact. And 2.) They failed to inform me that because my TV was a floor model the manufacturing warranty started the day is was manufactured which also cancels my warranty with LG. I've never had any problems with this place (besides the ridiculously high interest rate, $2000 for a $700 TV, come on...get real, but it's the price you pay to establish credit I guess). Read moreHorrible customer service. We had our couches delivered for the first time and their guys damaged our couches. A year later i had my couches sent in for repair and when they delivered them again they returned them all scuffed up and refused to fix them. We are paying warranty that is supposed to cover wear and tear and all they wanted to offer was a 140$ discount from our bill. I was not content with that answer since warranty is expensive. They told me to email them pictures so they can see what else they can do. They never called back.. i gave them a bit of time to figure out things and they lied that i was okay with the discount. If i would of been okay with that I wouldn’t have wasted my time emailing them the pictures. I had another issue with a table set we bought from home choice back in November when we received one of the chairs was broken. I called right away and was told i would get a replacement. I allowed three weeks to go by and no chair. I called again and turns out they never ordered the chair. It’s now mid February and still no chair…note:my couches had 0 scuffs when they left my house.
