Ordered the Birria tacos and they were delicious. Also got an order of chips and queso for my kids. One of the only places in the area for birria tacos. The flavor was very good. If only rating the flavor of tacos, I would rate a 5 star. Where I knock 3 stars off is price and service.
I was charged $3.50 for chips n cheese, not crazy pricing for an appetizer, however, the size of the chips is that of a small personal sized bag of tortilla chips and the size of the cheese is only a few small ounces at best. Not enough cheese to come remotely close to being able to dip the already small amount of chips given. For such a small amount of chips and cheese, it should be thrown in for free with an entree or charged $1.50 to reflect size. The taco plate I ordered was $10.50 and came with just 3 tacos. I went ahead with the order anyway because as stated before, one of a couple places to get birria in the area. Upon receiving the plate, I thought it had to be a joke. These tacos were tiny. 3 bites per taco, max. Again, flavor was awesome. Size and price, not so much.
As far as service goes, the staff seemed friendly and genuine. All working relatively hard. However, I placed my order online at 12:15pm. I was given a pickup time of 1:15pm. A 1hr space of time to prepare. As it was near lunch hour, I realize that's probably not an unusual wait time. Craving hopefully deliscious birria tacos, I pressed on forward. Traffic in town was crazy, so I arrived into the store a bit late at 1:25 only to find they hadn't even started my order yet. The young man running the register had to manually pull my order from the screen, write it down and walk it back to the cooks. I then had to wait an additional 15min on top of the 1hr 10min I had already gave them to prepare my 3 small tacos and overpriced tiny portion of chips n cheese.
If you're looking for tasty birria tacos, they are certainly flavorful. The price is not worth the amount of food you receive in my opinion. And do not order online, just walk in. Anejos waite park also has birria for a similar price but with an extra taco and the portion size is much larger. (Also comes with complimentary...
Read moreWe visited on 12/15 around 6pm. We ordered a shredded chicken chimichanga, 3 different types of street tacos (Carnitas, Chipotle Chicken, and Pastor) as well as a Birria Taco. The place was reasonably busy and our food took about 20 minutes. The gentleman that took our order was friendly. we ordered multiple types of medium/hot sauce but only received one (green, definitely not hot). The chimichanga was the star of our order, very good portion. The birria taco was also flavorful but was missing and juice to dip it in. The other 3 tacos were very simple in taste. In the time we were in the restaurant I never saw anybody come out to wipe down the tables. Overall the food was decent, we will try it again in the future and try different items. Come in with the expectation that it is different flavors than other similar local restaurants. It's not fair to the business to compare it to another places recipes, it should have a different flavor. I would rate it 3.5 stars but google doesn't allow half stars. What kept it from being a 4 star is nobody cleaning tables as patrons excited, missing hot sauce, and food temp could have been warmer but that may be the paper plates and...
Read morePros: Festive atmosphere. We arrived at a not so busy time and so seating was not an issue. Food was prepped and ready to pick up in a timely manner. Good size menu with many different choices. I ended up with the taco combo which included 3 street tacos, Spanish rice, and black beans. My choice of meat was shredded chicken. The cilantro was crisp along with the onions. The salsas are made by hand. My favorite was the hot, which is avocado, jalapeño, onion, and lime juice. By far the most flavorful of the 3 I tried. My dinner date had the Chipotle grilled burrito with chicken and they raved about how delicious it was. Portions are excellent for giving you that satisfied feeling. Chips are homemade, crunchy, and lightly seasoned, and the queso Blanco was delicious with just a hint of heat. The meat selection is large with your usual of chicken, shredded beef, shredded pork, to soy and beef tongue.
No alcohol at this time, but the owner did say they were working to bring alcoholic beverages into the restaurant.
Would definitely go back and experience...
