Had to edit my review sadly. What started out as a 5 star experience quickly has turned into the worst furniture experience I have ever had.
Recently moved and needed a LOT of new furniture. Went in on the initial occasion to purchase dining room and bedroom room furniture. They were having a sale - the sales person was helpful - ordered both the dining room and bedroom pieces I wanted for a great price during their Labor Day sale and left happy and excited.
Several days later I receive a call from Angelina- the sales manager asking if I had ordered a bed with my purchase and when I stated yes, she explained their was an issue and I was never charged for it and now she wanted me to pay another $1700! When I left the store that day - all the items I purchased were read back to me on 2 separate occasions and that I assumed what I agreed to pay was for everything I ordered. She explained there was some sort of error on some of the paperwork and told me there was nothing she could do.
I had to ask her to look over all my items (there were many) to see if she could make up some of the cost elsewhere because I should not be eating their entire mistake. It took her until the next day to get back to me to offer me $250 off my entire order that was $5000+ at this point. After several phone calls back and forth with her I asked if we could get the bill under $5000 since that was my original budget (which would have been roughly $500 off and I still would be eating $1200+ of this unexpected mistake) but she couldn’t manage that to save the sale and do right by the customer.
Gets worse - As Angelina and I could not come to an agreement on this issue I contact corporate customer service who had told me they are emailing the regional manager and owner to assist me and nearly 2 weeks has gone by without anyone helping me. I also have no bedroom or dining room furniture while all this is pending and had paid for which absolutely SUCKS! So now not only did I lose my trust in this store in particular but Ashley is losing my business as a customer which is sad because I still needed a ton of furniture which I will now go elsewhere and hopefully be treated like my sale is valued. Read moreEven if product is “in stock”- you’ll be waiting a month to get it! Order online!!! I came in to fully furnish my new home in the area. The guy that helped me and his manager felt like a used car salesman- one told me “free shipping” then the other was trying to make me believe that they’re doing something special for me. But I get it. They also didn’t know that the pillow came with the kid’s mattress- even tho it was part of their sale. I found a bedroom set online for my youngest child. The website said it was in stock at the Manahawkin location… and when I went into the store, the manager told me that the online store and their store are 2 separate entities- that I shouldn’t go off the online store about things in stock. Ok fine. She also told me that they have that bedroom set IN STOCK, and in white. I wasn’t planning on getting an all white set, but agreed since it was “in stock” . Well… It’s been over 3 weeks and I’m still waiting on this set! If I would have ordered online , I would have had the set in less than a week. I even called back to see if I can get a different color- considering I’m waiting this long for this bedroom set. The manager told me that the guy that was helping me will call me back, but he never did. The manager said “she’s not shipping any orders for another week” - but I’ve been dealing with the shipping center and they are a separate entity. So that’s confusing! The check out experience was also a little weird because you check out regularly and then you have to check out with somebody else for the delivery - and then call the delivery to see when they can ship out the product…. Which I thought it was in stock at the store. Thank goodness I didn’t order anything else! I would have an unfurnished home! Every other furniture store - next door and in the area has delivered that same week. And it’s a shame because I fell in love with this sofa set, but the guy helping didn’t know the price. Read moreBought a few beds over a month ago including a bunk bed. They came to deliver the products and they realized when putting the bunk bed together it was missing the ladder, so the guys showed me that they were putting in a work order saying the ladder was missing and should be in within the week. Well over a month later, still waiting for the ladder or even a phone call back for that matter. Been calling every other day about the status and all they do is send an email to call me back and I never hear from them. I even told them to deliver to the ashley store in Manahawkin and will pick up from there but still nothing. I called the store and one of the managers picked up and basically told me it wasn't her problem after I told her it has been over a month and she didn't want to be bothered. I told her that I was very disappointed and I would not go there again and she just said well sorry you feel that way and basically felt like I was bothering her. Yes they are very nice going through the door but once they make their sale, they are done with you. If there is a problem good luck getting any help. They should of made sure all the parts were accounted for and it was their fault for not having all the pieces, which I understand it was a mistake but they should be going out of their way to make it right. Seriously over a month and still nothing, very disappointing and very disgusted how the manager talked to me over the phone as not to even try to accommodate me for a mistake they made. Last call I made was today to customer service yet again and yet again they promised they would call back sometime today and still nothing, very shameful how they treat people after they make their money.
