I brought my wedding set to this store to get resized. When I dropped my rings off, I specifically mentioned that both my rings have unique engravings and I would like them fixed after the rings got resized. The associate told me to wait until after I picked them up from resizing instead of them tackling both at once. Fine, whatever. Before they are ready, I get a call telling me they are charging me more because the associate couldn't tell that my rings were platinum and not silver (and she didn't ask me at drop off.) When I picked them up, my engagement ring was missing half of the engraving, but was the correct size. My wedding band had the whole engraving, but was not the right size. I had to leave them at the store and I told the associate exactly what was wrong with each ring. Again, the associate misclassified the metal as white gold and not platinum. A week later, I come back and my engagement ring engraving was fixed, but they erased the entire engraving on my wedding band, replaced it with the engraving that was on my engagement ring, and also did an ugly, blocky font. I am extremely disappointed in how the staff handled my requests each time. I will never entrust my jewelry with this...
Read moreI would give this business 0 stars if I could. I took an heirloom silver pocket watch to Bernard's to have it restored. The watch was made sometime before 1930 so it probably would have been appraised for a tidy sum. The watch was engraved with the owner's name (my great-grandfather). When I brought the watch in, I explained to the lady what I wanted done. She said she would be glad to have the work done. I never received any paperwork that I had left the watch with them (my mistake). Fast forward five months later, I go to check on the watch. It can't be found! I left but told them to search the business to see where it was at. What was even worse,I was told" I should have asked for an intake ticket". I had never left anything at Bernard's! How was I to know what they needed ? A week later I returned, and of course, they told me they had "turned the business upside down ". Then, the manager tells me that Bernard's doesn't even WORK ON POCKET WATCHES! This was no accident! This was just plain old not paying attention to what they are doing! Please, do not leave any...
Read moreI stopped in for the first time to buy a pin for my husband's watch band and to have the prongs on my diamond ring tightened. I assumed I would need to drop the items off and come back but they fixed both items in 10 minutes. Moreover, they took the extra time to clean my ring and I wasn't charged for the adjustment; I paid for the watch pin and that was it. The service here was wonderful and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. I have been to jewelers in other areas where the staff seemed condescending, especially if you weren't making a large purchase. If the staff at Bernard's was gracious to me and my $4 watch pin, I'm certain they would be the place to go for higher price tag purchases. Last but not least, I believe this is a women-owned business (at least it appears this way from the website and the all-women staff working...
