Food Lion — Local services in Statesboro

Food Lion in Statesboro has horrible management and employees They allow their workers to curse at the customers and disrespect them. The bakery worker on June 29th 2024 cursed out a customer for asking why the price she was told was different from the sticker price. Then a male employee came up and began to yell at the woman who was with her husband and 3 children. Her husband told him he was not arguing with him it was their daughters birthday and they weren't going to let them ruin it as they walked to the register. The employee then fallowed them telling the father to meet him out side the store so he could beat him up. The father told him he was going out their when he finished transaction but he wasn't going to fight with him but he would protect himself and his family. The manager finally stepped in and told the couple she wasn't going to allow them to threaten her work. I could not believe it. After all her employees had done and how they acted she stepped in when the dad said he would defend himself. Horrible!!! Then gave them the Cake and other items to get them out the store like they were the problem. I hope they sue And the employees lose their jobs. I will never shop there again. Recently moved to Pembroke and discovered Food Lion is the only major grocery store in town. I am well acquainted with them having shops stores in White bluff and Port Wentworth. This particular store may be small, but the staff and management without exception are amazing. I visit the store at least five or six times a week and it doesn't matter when I visit no one is standing around idle. Everything is always exactly in its place, cleanliness in every department is on point. The Frontline staff is so caring and courteous I recently had surgery and they take extra care to bag my groceries so that it's easy for me Miss Abby always looks out for me when I come into the store, also miss Eve and the managers on duty are absolutely the best. Is Pembroke an old-fashioned town? Yes it is can you expect old-fashioned customer service at this food Lion absolutely consistently...

I'm right there with you! The guys where I buy groceries know I always buy a lot of coke products when they are on sale. I don't hardly get in the door before one of them comes to see how many I need. When I get through buying groceries they meet me at the register and unload my groceries and bag them. Pull my drinks over then takes everything to my car and neatly puts them in. I appreciate Food lion employees in Statesboro and I always tip them even though they don't expect it. But you go to Walmart and you have to look up on their app if you can't find something, bag your own groceries and it doesn't matter how heavy you can't get any customer service.
