I drove approx. 40ish minutes to the store in Stockton California, I have never stepped inside of a Sportsmans before , again was excited to do some shopping. We went to the back of the store to the gun area, there was two (2) employees and both were working with one customer (Finalizing a gun Pick up one employee seemed to be new) MY wife and I stood there from approx. 6 to 8 minutes before we were even acknowledge. Once they were done, the male employee approached us , with a rude voice and very curt "What do you need" I had my order up on my phone and all of my documents ready for him the Employee took all of my documents and left to the back room, he came back and told me the secondary home address (Water Bill) was 5 days past the 60 day limit this was approx. 1900/1915 hrs. We gathered our information to drive back home,on the drive back home we decided to go back to the store and get the gun information moving forward. We returned back to the store at 2020hrs and again headed to the back of the store. The two same employees were there and they both saw us , never once did they come to us and ask us anything, So at 2030 hrs. the Asian girl approached us and asked me what we needed, I showed her my receipt on my phone and she asked me if this was a "new start up" (I have never heard these words) I guess it is, She looked at her watch and left for the back room, she returned with an older gentleman (Chris) and he asked me the same question's " Is this a new Start up" I told him I guess seeing it is a new purchase. Chris told me that they closed at 2100hrs and it took 30/40 minutes, I replied OK, not an issue for me , he said well we(the store) closes at 2100hrs. and we are not allowed any overtime. I glanced at my watch and it was approx. 2035hrs So I was very upset, spent over 2 hours driving and waiting for the employees to acknowledge us , seems to be my problem, I asked Chris why is this my issue? he was silent never responded. I asked Chris if I could cancel my order, So he proceeded to do so. The reason for me not to follow thru with the order was my decision , but it was because I was treated less than I would believe is minimum standards to treat customers.

They do have awesome stuff from clothing regular and sports type to camping/hunting gear and water fun. Each employee has knowledge in their area of expertise whether they work that section or not, and others have no experience or knowledge on certain items. Those are the ones who just want to sell you something that is not the right object/material you need for what you are needing to use it for. My husband and me went floating down the river and went their to check for a floating ice chest (like the blow-up types) no one seemed to have ever even heard of them. And this guy gave us a floating bobber (almost $40 total) that says it holds up to 12 cans and stays up-right and secure. Well, it certainly didn't fit much, it did not stay up-right, and it did not stay secure as it popped open and we lost all that was in there. But before we decided to buy that one, a woman employee suggested we use an inflatable small raft (which said it seated 2 adults and was about 4ft in length) and just put ice and drinks inside and tie it to our tubes...HOW THE HELL IS THAT EVEN A CONVENIENT IDEA OR THOUGHT? I am not about to drag a 4ft raft behind me with my husband, that's just asking for a hard, no chill float. So we went with the logical idea..the bobber. .... still a dumb idea/invention. We took it back telling the problem, and she calls the manager back, and he INSTANTLY knew it was a return and even said 'haha return right?" Lol yup. And said "he would never suggest anyone to buy THAT much less to even use on a river float and asked who it was that gave it to us saying it's the best. Lol he had no problem giving our money back and even said he was really sorry for that and for us even buying it in the first place lol. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis shop is a joke or the lazy guys that work in the gun area are. I bought a gun and ammo online for the black Friday sale, and last night was the second time I've gone to try to pick them up. I drove twice (2 hours back and forth each time).
It was the evening because traffic is bad, but those people appear to be lazy and don't want to work. They keep making excuses to get rid of me. Many family members warned me about their laziness and feeling of power, but I did not heed the warning.
The first time, they told me I needed a copy of my marriage certificate, since my maiden name is different from my birth certificate. Ok, I know we are in California but, I had my gun safety certificate, birth certificate, ID and utility bill, which in the past Ive used to purchase a gun.
Last night, initially the guy told me it was too late since it was after 8pm. Then he said my copy of the marriage certificate was not clear, then he called the boss jerk, who said the same. Plus the boss jerk said my middle name on the marriage certificate was different and they could not let me pick up my order.
I informed him that I called and was told, that was all I needed to pick up my order. I did not have the name of the person I spoke to as I never expected more excuses. I should have since they appear to be woman haters also. I proceeded to explain that as a Hispanic I used my confirmation middle name, when I got married.
He stated that the shop will never allow me to pick up my order. I was very frustrated and had my puppy with me who was shivering so I told him that I will never shop there again and told him to cancel my order. I quickly told him nevermind because I wanted to cool down and make the decision later.
When I got home I had an email that he had canceled my order. Lazy, power hungry jerks! I wil now let all family, friends and...
