So I wasn't able to feel this place out enough to give them more than one star... I dropped my ONE YEAR OLD PUPPY off for a "trial day". I didn't even get 5 minutes away before getting a phone call stating that she wasn't going to work out... When I asked why, the man told me that when I left she got whiny and wouldn't listen to him...... (after 5 minutes) so OBVIOUSLY shes a year old puppy, and her mom just left her at a strange place for the first time.... maybe try to comfort her???? Maybe bring one dog in and make her realize shes not in a bad place??? Maybe don't just call me right away because the dog wouldn't automatically trust a strange man she's never met before... I was very excited to try this place after reading all of the reviews and hearing good things, but was very very disappointed when they wouldn't even put in the effort to make her comfortable and try to get her acclimated.. It was like they couldn't be bothered to put the extra work in... NOW I KNOW MY PUPPY IS A LOT TO DEAL WITH... but once she gets with other dogs, she runs and plays for hours, never giving any problems... They just weren't willing to get her to that point... So my question in the end is, why take on new clients even for "trial days" if you're not willing to work with said dog FOR MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES, for them to get comfortable and trust you and where they are...
UPDATE: I will NOT take down my review.... first of all it was not a "free day" it was a free five minutes.. Also you have the audacity to refer to my dogs "stance" seriously?????? MY dog is NOT aggressive WHAT SO EVER. She is PART pitbull and yes you told me she had to be "perfect" but going into it, I told you she didnt listen too well. I also told you that around small dogs, she was too excited and acted so around them. Also typically large dogs and small dogs are separated regardless..... I found an amazing daycare for her, I called on her first day to check in, because FUNNY they didnt call me 5 minutes after I left, and when I called to check on her, they told me she was whiney and not listening but IT WAS TO BE EXPECTED ON A PUPPYS FIRST DAY AT A STRANGE PLACE. So no, I am not upset because someone told me my puppy is not perfect, I KNOW SHE IS NOT PERFECT but Clearly these people know how to actually work with dogs. I apologize that this review isn't ideal, but I will not take it down becasue I stand by my opinion of...
Read moreI liked going to them, and actually was in the process of starting transportation with them before my dog got hurt. Now I understand a dog can get hurt at daycare and thatâs the risk you sign up for when you send your dog. BUT they did not call to check on my dog once (and this happened almost 2weeks ago) after she got hurt at their establishment. My dog ended up needing stitches from âa puppy getting her earâ which i donât know how true that is but was giving them the benefit of the doubt. The slice in her ear was bad enough the vet decided to take it off and leave her a little hole (youâll see in image) because it was the safest option. Again I understand the risks of daycare, what I donât understand is how someone does not check on an animal after being hurt in their responsibility. This was a very blood incident I should add and they were well aware we had to go to the emergency vet as we called them from there for the other dogâs information. Just puts a bad taste in my mouth.
Also there were two separate times I picked my dog up and her prong collar was still on her, after being there for 8+ hours. I tried to be understanding because she does have darker fur and the collar is dark but after the ear incident I will not be returning. I also am attached a photo they posted of her wearing her prong collar out with the other dogs.
I am honestly just disappointed and if they had reached out following the incident and showed care and compassion I would have...
Read moreWe used to live in Reading and we would take our dog Levi twice a week. We moved to Somerville in October and started at a different daycare, and he did not leave giving us the impression that he played and exercised as much as he did at Paws Club. Yesterday we were in a pinch and decided to drive all the way to Stoneham. I was worried they would have to evaluate him again since heâs grown a lot and itâs been several months, but they remembered him and welcomed him openly! It was a huge help to us. Levi is always so excited to go there! They let the dogs go in and out as they please (the playground is totally fenced and safe). Levi is pretty tireless and he always leaves and sleeps through the night feom a good day of play. Paws Club is a great local business and I...
