I would give this pharmacy zero stars if possible. Poor customer service and terrible follow through on their jobs. Not only did they put my life in jealopardy with their reckless behavior, but then used malicious retaliation by refusing service with me after being called out on their piss poor service. What happened you may ask? As a cancer patient, I rely on quite a few daily medications to live my life to the fullest. Some of these medications require prior authorization from my insurance companies, and having been sick as long as I have; I am fully aware of these issues when dropping off said prescriptions. One of these encounters, I dropped a medication off TWO WEEKS prior to the fill date, and told them DIRECTLY they would need to get a “prior auth” in time for me to not miss any doses. Two weeks goes by, and the medications are supposed to be ready without a problem- especially seeing as these medications had been filled and used for months, nothing new to any employee there. What happens next I’m sure you can infer. They never did the prior authorization and told me I would have to wait 2 business days for that PLUS the impending weekend. How am I supposed to go up to 4 days without a medication that if not used puts me in a state of complete illness?! After telling the pharmacist and the other employees behind the counter exactly how inappropriate it was that they didn’t do their jobs, the pharmacist was rude and nasty about my opinion, and further stated that he would “do me a favor” and fill it now but get the prior authorization afterwards. After doing that, what seems to be a nice gesture, they refused to fill any more medications with me- but notified me by letting me drop off medications, stamping and scribbling all over my hard copies, and then refusing to fill them. After returning them to me, they had made sure to make it difficult for me to fill elsewhere by altering the original paperwork and claiming they had “flagged” me in their system. (I don’t even believe that you can “flag” someone so at that point I was being threatened out of malicious intent. Real professional.) Luckily, ANOTHER giant eagle location very close to this one was told my situation, including me taking responsibility for telling the pharmacist he does a horrific job at work. I didn’t change the story for my benefit whatsoever. I was very clear that I had been upset with the pharmacy and made it very clear to the employees there. I have no problem owning my actions, but clearly these pharmacists at Streetsboro giant eagle do. When questioned about their lazy and dangerous behavior, they retaliate instead of fix the problem. This is half the issues with the pharmaceutical industry today. Pharmacists that operate outside of their job descriptions in order to feel important or superior to patients with a medical need for restricted medications. Just because someone is taking a medication that has been abused by society as a whole, does not make that patient(s) an abuser. I hope you think twice about filling any RX’s here- because they do not deserve the business if they can’t even take responsibility for their mistakes and dangerous work practices...
Read moreTilly at the bakery has a terrible attitude! Because of this woman's just flat out laziness and not knowing anything about her job I had to call my 62 year old grandmother and ruin the surprise we had put together for her to ask exactly what she wanted ( even though I had already explained to Tilly exactly what I wanted she just choose to do what she wanted instead of what I was asking for.) I call back to fix the order and get treated worse than the first call. This woman is obviously not trained in her job at all but had the nerve to get snippy with me because she had to ask numerous questions. I'm sorry but yes I do need to know what flavor I'm going to get and I definitely do need to know the price of what I'm getting. Then I call to complain to the manager about how I was treated2 days in a row, and I never complain, but he is rushing me off the phone as well! In the end all he even has to say is "Well I will definitely talk to her about it and I'm sorry." Like it was just a little incident. I'm sorry but she had to ask someone else about every question that i had so she is obviously not trained well enough to be taking the bakery orders, and then she was beyond rude and just down right disrespectful not one time but2 days in a row! That is flat out an attitude problem and not just like oh well, she was having a bad day, she's normally great! No she is obviously not good with customers, therefore she should be put somewhere else where she doesn't have to answer phones and speak to customers all day! We were trying to surprise my 62 year oldgrandmother, who is not well and may not see63, with a cake and a little party on what may very well be her last thanksgiving! Now I had to take away the surprise just because this woman is not equipped to do the job she is getting paid for! And even the manager acts like it's not that big a deal but I'm sorry I very strongly disagree! This whole situation has me pretty furious! I wasn't even offered anything at all, not even a free candle to put on what may be my grandmother's last birthday cake ever! It felt as if this disrespectful and degrading behavior is just acceptable here at Streetsboro Giant Eagle. And this is not the first time I have gotten a bad attitude from an employee here either but it was most definitely the worst time. I will not be using them...
Read moreWe had a horrid ordeal inside the Streetsboro location where I was shopping in the state liquor agency. My wife and I were getting ready for a celebration we were planning and we were making a spirit run. We had a few bottles of Vodka, and had moved over to the Tequila section. The gentleman working the counter (Dominick) walks over to the section where we were shopping and asked if he could help us. I sensed that he may have been a little uneasy, so I handed him the bottles we had already selected so that he can hold them at the counter. He proceeded to take the bottles to counter and came BACK over to where we were and started to count bottles. Before we could ask why he decided to do this in the section we were shopping, he decided to tell us “..don’t mind me, I’m just doing inventory…”. When we asked why he was performing inventory at this moment, he mentioned that the Tequila section was the hardest hit by theft, but that he wasn’t implying that we were stealing anything. We explained that the context of his actions and his statement did just that. We had never been so embarrassed in our lives!
We demanded to speak to a manager, who came and was beginning to apologize when the Dominick began to go on about how he wasn’t singling us out but because he had ADHD he always counts bottles this way. I have zero issues with anyone who has a disability, but to use this as an excuse to make shoppers feel uncomfortable is inappropriate and inexplicable. We decided that our lack of a quality experience and being treated with courtesy and respect was worth much more than the spirits we needed that night. Even after we said never mind to purchasing the couple hundred dollars worth of liquor, we still didn’t feel that Dominick realized the consequences of his inappropriate actions. The manager tried to get him to stop further implicating himself by making more comments that were inappropriate, but he kept talking. We ended up leaving the liquor as well as our cart full of groceries at the store and politely walked out empty handed, but with our dignity.
We have been customers of Giant Eagle/ Market District since the mid 90’s. Unless someone can explain to me why we were treated this way and offer a compelling apology, we will be...
