It's nearing October and I took my long sleeve shirts to this location and they told me they won't take long sleeves and are picky with what they take regarding long sleeves because they just brought out their stock from last year. If you don't take most clothing a few months old (claiming it's outdated when it's not), why are you bringing out stock from last year? More than half of what I browsed today in the long sleeve section was outdated. Not to mention the vibe in that place doesn't make you feel welcome. The workers always have a stuck up attitude and won't even acknowledge you. They are also clueless when it comes to what clothes to take. The teenagers working here base the clothes they sort through on personal preference and what they like, not what someone coming in might like, what is trendy and what will sell. Most of the clothing in this place looks like I just walked into a time machine and went back to 2010. When I asked for a dressing room, the worker gave me the look like I was a bother to her. When I came up to get my clothes that they sorted through, the cashier didn't even say hi to me or at least give a smile. She almost seemed to roll her eyes because I wanted to buy a purse with the store credit I received like I was taking up too much of her time and she'd rather go back to gossiping like they all do there. Pay attention, they always make snide comments behind the counter about the clothes you bring in. The workers there are nothing but snobby and immature. I've been there a ton of times and today was the worst experience I ever had. It seems to be getting worse every time I go there. I ended up taking the clothes they didn't take to the goodwill down the street where it's appreciated.
Edit: I'm now writing another review 3 years later. (June 2023). I went back to this location today and it hasn't changed. I encounter this one employee that works there quite often. I don't know her name but she might be one of the managers. She is by far the rudest worker there. I asked for a dressing room and received an eye roll from her as she dragged herself down to the dressing rooms to unlock one for me, like it was the biggest deal in the world. I thanked her and got an "mhm." in response. Completely pathetic attitudes in there, especially from her. They say they don't take Target clothing, but there is tons of Target clothes in there, Universal Thread is one of them. Selection is a hit or miss. Also, the dressing rooms need a cleaning. They are filthy.
September 2023 edit: Dressing rooms seem to be getting worse each time I stop in. I don't think they've been cleaned since the store opened years and years ago. They need to be renovated too. Walls and doors peeling, you can barely see yourself in the mirror because they're so dirty, and the floor has mounds of dirt/dust/debris. It's disgusting. Workers are snobbish and rude...medium/longish length brown haired girl, around early 20s is always there. She's extremely rude. She was ringing someone out and I was 2nd in line with no one behind me and she calls another girl to ring me out because she didn't want to ring me out. Seemed pretty personal as there wasn't a line, it was just me. The only compliment I have is that the store was very well stocked, the most stocked I've...
Read moreThe people, and the quality of clothes, are trash. I brought a laundry basket full of clothes, then shopped around while they "sorted" my items. They ended up buying 5 of my items for $17, without even asking if I wanted to add my purchases on to the transaction. So whatever, I go stand in line, and waited 10 minutes for the slow cashier to slowly ring up the customer in front of me in the slowest manner possible while talking to her coworkers and a woman that looked like a manager about how "good they were doing tonight." As I heard that, I realized that they didn't give me my original laundry basket back. I checked out with the incredibly slow cashier that did not even acknowledge except to absently say, "have a great night." So I walked over to the counter where I originally sold my clothes and asked the SAME woman who bought my clothes for my basket back unless she wanted to keep it. She laughed like it was funny, then said "no we dont want them.. theres a goodwill up the street." in a very condescending way. If you don't want my business. I'll donate elsewhere. I can go to goodwill for better service and not have to mess around with high school work ethics and too much attitude. Thanks but...
Read moreThis Plato’s Closet location has gone downhill tremendously in the last year. I used to be an avid shopper and seller to this location, however, now I hate to even walk in. The employees are always stuck up acting like you are bothering them for having them do their jobs such as checking you out, getting you a fitting room, or going through your items to sell. I went in today with two huge bags of clothing and the girl was done “looking” in less than ten minutes. I had many on trend items such as various cropped shirts, plain sweaters, denim, and trendy bottoms. She said the clothes weren’t “teen clothes” or “trendy” but how would she know without even looking through all the items? She was very rude and stand offish…definitely what you don’t want in CUSTOMER SERVICE. This location has lost my business, and according to these reviews the business of many others as well. I’d save your time and effort and just go to another Plato’s location if you are looking to shop or sell, the employees here would probably like less customers so they can continue to gossip...
