Okay, outside of the unnecessary staff woman we had a pleasant experience. For some back story, Iām 23 and my mom just passed and we have been looking all over for a dress for my auntie to wear at mommas burial. Her burial is tomorrow and we stopped at this location last to try to find something that worked.
Side note. Iāve worked retail since graduating high school and Iām extremely considerate to staff in retail shoppes and even do some of their work for them if they seem understaffed and I know weāre being āthoseā shoppers.
Now. To my issue. They were already understaffed, so no one was helping customers. There were only 2 people working. My auntie was finally finding clothes that fit well and looked good on her and we went to the front of the store to see how they looked. When we got there, almost 90 minutes to closing, the woman announced that the store closed in an hour and a half. Odd right?? But we didnāt drop our mood because we were having a good time. I noticed however, for every announcement after this, the woman stared at us while saying the countdown. She went so far as to start saying it every five minutes as if we couldnāt hear the PA system with the five other customers wandering the store.
I wasnāt trying to disturb my aunties excitement because I was helping her and already setting her unaccepted choices up to make it easier to restock and staff is rushing the customer?
We felt very patronized and did not appreciate the sarcastic enthusiasm when we went to the register.
I personally was very excited to be shopping at this location for its proximity to our home on the other side of Suffolk. On top of that, the store was clean and very well kept. The variety of clothing options was phenomenal compared to the other stores weāve visited. I truly didnāt appreciate the customer service with that woman. You do not rush clients and customers, especially those trying to work with you to make your job easier at the end of the night KNOWING that youāre understaffed. We were extremely considerate to their load and the excessive eye contact with each and every announcement was both uncomfortable and...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3/8/24 I usually do not write reviews BUT.....I fell DISGUSTED by the way this store is ran. (This is not my usual store but when I am on that side of town this is the one I go to and each time I have had about the same experiences with the extremely long wait times) First off, when I walked in there was only 1 girl working the registers and the line was going down the aisle you could tell she was very frustrated. It came time to check out and again the line was down the aisle people were agitated and asking for a manager, the girl at the counter called for assistance 3 times and NO ONE came to help and what made it even worse was that EVERYONE in the store could clearly hear workers in the back room laughing and playing around and NOT ONE of them came to help this poor girl. After about a while the manager (Nick) FINALLY showed up BUT did absolutely NOTHING to help, he just walked up and down the aisle acting like he was hard at work. This store should be ASHAMED of themselves for 1. Having a manager who obviously does NOT care about his workers, or he would have helped this girl himself, and continue to pay him for doing absolutely NOTHING to help his customers or employees And, 2. Allowing this to continue and doing NOTHING to change it. (Reading other reviews this is not the first time this has happened) In Conclusion, I wish I could rate the employees because I would definitely give this girl a 5 star rating Her name is SHANA. But, this 1 star is for the employees who would rather play then work, and to the store management who allows this to behavior to happen and does nothing.
P.S. Everyone that was standing in line felt so sorry for this girl they were offering her...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI will never patronize this Ross location ever again. The sales associates that we encountered have very poor customer service skills.
But most importantly, I noticed that one of the sales associates followed my 3 children and I all around the store. She even followed my 11 year old daughter into the dressing room when she went in to try on clothes.
She never offered to assist us and we were courteous, we didn't look or act suspicious and my children are young. As we shopped for school clothes it hadn't dawned on me what she was doing. I just kept seeing her and she never offer assistance. But then I noticed her watching as we were in line at the register. I questioned my children about her watching us and they confirmed my suspicion. They even mentioned that she watched and followed us from the moment we walked in the door and my daughter told me about the dressing room incident.
What's most distressing is, we are black and so was the associate. I'm a middle aged neatly dressed man and my children are 9, 11 and 13 neat in appearance and well spoken as well. The associate looked to be about my age. I've grown accustomed to such treatment from people of other racial or ethnic persuasions, (and I don't patronize those establishment either) but I've never experienced such behavior from my own people.
I was so mad I couldn't approach the individual because I wasn't sure if I could control my emotions. But neverthless I will...
