For the past two weeks, we have hesitated on leaving this low rated review, regarding the Duck Donuts donut wall for our daughter's wedding, but we hope to help others make an informed decision.. Although the donut wall looked absolutely beautiful, with each donut done in the blush wedding colors, less than half of the donuts were eaten during the reception, after a few guests suggested that they might have broken teeth on the donut "sprinkles". It was a bit embarrassing and the rest of the $275 donut wall went to waste.
As parents of the bride, we were busy entertaining our guests all evening but as soon as we had the opportunity, we went right to the donut wall to try for ourselves - To our dismay, the pearls on the donuts were truly rock hard, making them difficult to chew or to enjoy without causing harm to our teeth. Our guests weren't kidding!
As someone who has only planned this one wedding, I relied heavily on the guidance of the professionals I was working with on what to do/what not to do and I wish we had been advised against the solid pearl sprinkles on the donuts so that they would have been edible.. since the pearls were embedded into the icing and unable to be scraped off without removing the whole top of the donut, the bride and groom ended up throwing them...
Read moreBuyer beware. This is our 2nd poor experience at this location, the first was an in person order with a very lengthy delay which we dismissed as a one off because they were understandably busy, and only had so many staff. However this visit my kids mother placed an online order ahead at 9:17, I arrived 30 minutes later at the designated time 9:45, and they were not ready. They were overwhelmed with orders. They stopped accepting walk in or online orders shortly after I arrived. I was told there were two orders ahead of me by the staff member that seemed to be taking the lead. An hour later after many who arrived after me came and went at 10:55 on my third inquiry I finally received a box half covered in bacon. I asked if that’s what the order called for, which seemed unlikely as no one in our house typically eats the bacon donuts, and I was told by the employee that it was. As I predicted that was incorrect. The order she placed had special instructions and substitutions for the bacon with other toppings that were not followed. She called to request a refund after this great delay and woefully incorrect order, but was told they could not because there was no manager present to do so. So I have placed a complaint with the parent company and am sharing this regrettable...
Read moreI have never had such a bad experience. I brought my husband and my husband's service animal with me and we ordered our donuts and coffee yesterday morning. One of the employees had asked us to remove our animal because this was a restaurantwhich I understood, however she was doing her job and could not be removed. We had shown them the paperwork and her documentation and even gave them our ADA contact stating she was and they threatened to call the police and my husband and I had reached our max and stated that it was against the law to ask us to remove the animal unless she was not potty trained or misbehaving and she was just sitting there. I told them that I had brought our dog to other locations and that if I were to call the regional manager they would be very sad this happened. I then asked for the corporate number which they said they didn't have that information to give.We went in today at the battlefield location who we've taken our dog to before and told them what happened and they were astounded at the disrespect.. They gave me the corporate number and stated that they were going tell the manager cause that's not...
