I didn't show up on opening day because I knew things would be chaotic so I waited one week before driving a long way to get here. I got lost, but so as long as you hug the right hand stores and follow along the path, Ellicor is the last store tucked away in a far corner.
The a/c seems to be working in there now since I read the reviews and got worried, but things seemed pretty fine when I went.
Since the place is very new, not everything is fully organized or has a price tag on the items as of yet.
I was pleasantly surprised to find Lilith blind boxes that I've been looking everywhere for, and they were nearly sold out so I took the chance to buy them. These boxes had price tags on them and these prices reflected similarly to the prices online for other sites.
I wanted to see other blind boxes but I couldn't see or reach too high up so I'm sad that I missed out on these blind boxes. I didn't want to bother the workers.
I wish the Ellicor site would reflect the in store stock so I wouldn't have to drive such a long way to grab something I want or guess whether if they are in...
Read moreNot a good experience for the grand opening. Don’t know why they chose the hottest time of day for people to be queuing outside in the Texas heat for hours. Did not hand out water, disposable fans, or even set up tents. We were waiting outside for over two hours in the heat and decided to leave and come back. When we came back, the check out line was as long as the line outside and it was somehow hotter inside the store than outside. At least set up some fans or pass out water from the cold fridge we had to queue by. Filled with overworked minimum wage workers and family members of the owners standing around the already packed store. They were in stock of most items though and although way over retail price I got what I came for. I know they’ll figure out how to better run their business in the near future. I’m sure they are nice people, especially the guy handling the raffle tickets. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the...
Read moreThe majority of items here are not priced. I think about 75% of items I picked up around the store did not have price tags. There are no labels on any of the shelves either, which makes for a frustrating shopping experience. On less busy days, this is not a problem since I can quickly check with the cashier. But I dont want to wait in a very long line to check the price. I feel that this is intentional to add pressure to buy the item at higher prices.
Also, this store has a tip jar at the cash register. I have never heard of tipping in retail, which makes me question whether employees here are so severely underpaid that the customer is expected to make up for the gap. The employees are generally friendly and helpful, but management is not looking out for them is...
