Dear Manager, I am writing to express my disappointment with the customer service I received at your UPS store. As a local customer, I value the convenience of your store and its role in supporting our community. However, my recent experience fell short of the welcoming and helpful service I expected. I visited your store to purchase a box, priced at approximately $5.60, with the intention of packing my shoes myself to save on costs. I asked the employee for a small piece of tape to seal the bottom of the box so I could safely transport it to my workplace. Unfortunately, the employee responded with a dismissive and unhelpful attitude, stating, “This is the same as us packing it for you,” This interaction left me feeling undervalued as a customer. A guy literally throwing parcels into a UPS truck in front of my eyes should've tipped me off. He even joked to me while throwing parcels about 7 feet from the ground to the back of the truck.
Then the lady at the front desk, first informed me that they don't seal the packages, which is fine, I was surprised but fine. She then proceeded to seal it in a completely inadequate way basically slapping a piece of tape over the top and out of my sight and carelessly tossing it down on the floor. When I asked to have it back so I could seal it properly, she refused to let me have it back because "it was in the system".
When asked to speak to manager, lady said she was the manager. Other employees pretty much went along.
This is ridiculous.
I can understand telling me a flat NO WE DONT SEAL YOUR PACKAGES, that is a matter of franchise policy. But sealing it in a poor way, basically ensuring that in any kind of toss up or ever-so-light rain the content would become easily damaged...
