I went here wanting a balayage. She never asked me my hair condition beforehand. I had some box dye left in my hair because of this she said she could not dye my hair which I understood. She wouldn't tell me what she could do to my hair just what she couldn't so I asked. her husband responded with "not much". I should have left then, which I regret. She said I can touch up your hair which I assumed that ment dye my hair one whole color. Now I have patches of hair that are faded out dye as well as light brown color pieces where dye has left and now I have different color roots because thats all she dyed. My hair is all patchy and different colors. I wanted my hair dyed not half dyed and was charged 85$ which is ridiculous to me considering she said a balayage is around 90-110$. my Bangs where already cut by me she asked if I wanted a cut I said no but If my bangs are not stright can you straighten them out. She barley cut them at all she even said I didn't do much to them I tried to leave them long. I never told her my bangs were unmanagable which she claimed. I was charged 15$ for this. I find unreasonable considering she didn't cut bangs. Also on thier website they say first time customers get 10$ off thier hair cut which they didn't mention but what they did mention was if I gave a 5 star review they will give me 5$ off. This is why you see so many 5 star reviews. When I got home and noticed how patchy my hair is and how much I was charged for what I didn't even make a appointment for I changed my review to 2 stars and didn't write anything. She decided to text me saying I should have contacted her and I had a poor character because I was unhappy with my hair lol ok . It seems she wrote me because she was so upset with my review. I can’t begin to capture how fortunate I feel to have found Melinda & French Coiffure salon. After coming to AZ over a year ago, I was searching to find a stylist that matched the expert skills of the one I’d had in Chicago for 20+ years.

I tried several stylists but was not happy with either the technique/end result. I was very lucky, a good friend of mine moved here from Chicago discovered Melinda and highly recommended her. As it turns out, Melinda was a top educator and trainer for the same salon my stylist was at in Chicago!!

Melinda is an outstanding stylist. She does a precision cut on my hair and it’s perfection. I’m fussy and have the challenge of a very level eye so I know what a good cut should be. She also does amazing color. I get compliments on my hair all the time, in stores, in church!! I like to think I’m a walking advertisement for her but all of her clients are. She’s that good.
