Pita Wraps — Restaurant in Surprise

I have been here several times because it is very close to my home. I’ve always thought the food was decent (not my favorite Greek food) and the restaurant is clean. Today we decided to try it out again. The person taking the orders was extremely rude and impatient. I would have guessed that he was a manager or owner. He rushed me while I was ordering and said “we need to hurry, I don’t have time to be wasting…the cook in the back needs help.” My initial reaction was let’s just go but my husband really didn’t want to drive all the way to Glendale for our favorite place. He rang us up and I asked to add two more drinks…again he was very put out by my request. Im sorry but I would rather drive 40 minutes away for better food and friendly service! I hope with all Surpise growing, we get a new Greek food place. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE…food ok.

To your response…that is exactly what was said and then I sat there and watched you be rude to another customer!! I’m sorry I’m a nurse and I understand being short staffed…believe me…the whole world is understaffed and I don’t mind being patient. You could have been nicer and I would have continued to be a returning customer but sadly I won’t be...

I placed my order online for delivery at 5:50pm even though it says it will not be delivered until 7:22 - 7:3pm. At7:16pm I get an email saying "We are quoting another 30-45 mins". 8:05pm rolls around and I receive a text message saying my order was canceled and that they would email me the details. I finally receive the aforementioned email that says "Unfortunately, it appears that Pita Wraps Mediterranean Grill will not be able to fulfill this order because they are closing early for the day. We apologize for the inconvenience." Now its after 8 and our Friday night dinner plans have been ruined. At this point I don't know if the fault lies with deliver.com (the service they use) or if it was Pita Wraps so I call Pita Wraps and get a generic voicemail greeting saying leave a message. The really disappointing part about all of this is I chose Pita Wraps because its a local business and I wanted to support them. Can't tell you anything about the food but if you are going to try them I would suggest calling first or going and picking it...

Seems this location changed ownership. For some reason a lot of locals are unhappy with that change. I, however, am happy! I ate here a couple of times over the years but honestly, if I was craving a gyro I’d go way out of town to get one. Because this is an area that surprise is lacking in. No place in surprise has very good Mediterranean/ Greek food.

That’s all changed now! After hearing the complaints of other I decided to give it a try. Why not. I was craving a gyro and didn’t have a whole lot of time.

So glad I didn’t listen to the nay-sayers who are afraid of change just because it’s change.

My gyro was fantastic! Just like the old days way before I ever landed in surprise. Perfectly cooked Kronos on the spit, great pita. And the best part? Their Tzatziki!! It was really, really good. Most places here it’s all dill and/ or lemon. This place uses the right combination so that it tastes just like it’s supposed to. A little less lettuce would make it better but otherwise?...
