I used to love this place. The dance instructors on Thursday are fantastic and we made it a family event. They had a great wing special for 10 wings and a drink for $11 and we would get 2-3 of them and a few more drinks. 2 weeks ago I ask for them to make our order to-go cause only 2 of us could make it and I knew we wouldnt finish them and was told that the wing special wasn't available to go. I said no problem, make it 2 orders for here and a to go box. They all came to-go and instead of being $22 we were charged full price for two orders of wings and 2 sodas which was $33 plus tax for justmy daughter and I. I wouldn't have ordered the sodas for $3 each if it wasn't for the special. I messaged them and was told that they weren't happy with the dance crowd just coming for the special and then leaving and they were losing money. The next week we came they changed the special saying it was only available before 5 pm (we usually arrive at 530). We've been regulars, drive 30-45 mins each way and frequently dropped $40-60 every Thursday because we enjoyed it.
Well I think it's official that we will not be coming back to The Brookside II Sports Bar, after being regular patrons for the last 3 years. I ask the owners wife nicely if we could have the big table for 8 since there were 6 of us and more on the way and was told no, she only had 2-2 tops. I said fine and sat the girls at one table and myself at the other in the other aisle. She then proceeds to come over and berate me saying they were getting rid of seats all together because of "people like me" with kids taking up their precious tables that paying adults could be using. I then told her the reason we didnt get the 4 top was a couple snuck in the patio in front of us, while we came in the front door and she proceeded to call me a liar and said she sat them. She may have sat them but they still went in the patio door that said not to enter while we walked around. Everytime we come here, we order food and drinks and spend at least $50, after driving 45 mins each way, which is a lot for my limited income. We come here to support Boots and Dukes and try to encourage others to get out on the dance floor but it's obvious our business doesn't matter to them. I have no idea how owners like this can be so rude. Being Veterans doesn't mean a lot. The table ended up going empty most of the night and then 2 couples sitting at it and I still wonder why they couldn't allow the 6 of us to sit there with 2 more coming and instead decided to degrade me and make me feel like sht* to prove their point in front of my kids who have loved coming to their establishment and...
Read moreExtremely unhappy with this establishment. If I could give it zero stars, I would. We were told this was a good place to go dancing in Surprise. We went there last night with some friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. I love to dance and was excited to celebrate my birthday dancing with my husband and friends.
The DJ was suppose to start at 9pm but there was a holiday party for company employees going on in the dance area that continued after 9. When the DJ finally did get set up and the dance floor was opened up for dancing, my husband was approached by an employee as he walked out of the restroom. The employee told him that he needed to leave and gave no reason why he needed to leave. There had been no altercations between any of us and staff before he went to the restroom. We had been hanging out patiently on the other side of the bar waiting for the dance area to open up. The guys in our group were playing darts and my husband had only had 2 drinks.
My husband and I ended up having to leave before we could even have one dance together. My birthday celebration was ruined and why? Wondering if we were discriminated against because of our age or because we didn't fit in with the type of people they want to cater to. It just doesn't make sense. We are normal, simple people, not troublemakers and we didn't cause any problems with the staff. We did have a few drinks before we went to this establishment but we all took a taxi there and planned to take a taxi home. If the staff had felt that my husband had had too much to drink, why didn't they just cut him off from the adult beverages and offer him some water, a soda, or some coffee instead of kicking him out?
I would also like to add that the bartender tried to charge us twice for a drink. After my husband bought his first drink, I ordered a drink and the bartender tried to charge us for his drink again. After reading previous reviews, I found that other customers have complained that they too had been scammed by bartenders at this establishment so if you plan on going to this place, be very careful to make sure they are giving you back the correct change and not charging you twice for drinks you've already paid for and if they don't give you the correct change back you will most likely be asked to leave if you complain about it. They won't admit to their "mistake", they'll just kick you out.
Needless to say, we will never go back to this establishment again and we will never recommend this establishment to...
Read moreWe tried to go here for trivia, we realized when we got there it was all high tops for trivia and one of the members of our group is in a wheelchair. We asked if we could move a small two top that was normal height nearby that was unused. The shift lead on the night said we could not. When asked why he said it was for the golf game, which I get but no one is using it, and couldnât they have moved one of the high tops over there for that?? Their solution was to put us in a corner on the other side of the restaurant with a tv. I get why it might seem like an okay solution but youâre not really part of the game and is clearly a subpar solution to the one we suggested. I do not understand why they would not accommodate our request and instead chose a more discriminatory solution. They also didnât set the backup table until the game was well underway, when we had brought the issue to their attention and our solution to their attention well before it had started. When asked why we couldnât move the table the shift lead did not give a reasonable answer after we had discussed the unused golf game. He didnât site fire code or issues with foot traffic. When I asked why we couldnât he shrugged. When I asked why he is dying on this hill he said âI just work here man.â He appeared to intentionally yawn while we were discussing why we couldnât move a table 5 feet to accommodate the member of our party in a wheel chair. I do not understand why he chose to act like this. The shift lead should not have any position of power let alone a job. The actions border on discrimination and should be actionable if the owner is reasonable. I have just never seen anything like this in any service. Most places are happy to go an extra mile to help someone who is disabled, we werenât even asking for an extra mile, just to be allowed to move a table for a woman in a wheelchair. We paid for the drinks we already ordered and left to eat elsewhere. Our server was trying to be helpful and was very kind during the process. Unfortunately she was limited by a very very dumb manager. We appreciated her trying...
