It was an unexpected pleasure for me happening upon Modus AV. I was in the area for an unrelated appointment and decided to Google search for audio stores near me. Located on the second story (suite 208) of a modest sized retail row of storefronts, Modus AV can be a bit hard to spot. But it was definitely worth the search (they have ample amounts of free parking on the back side of the storefronts). Their Listening Room was like an audio oasis. It's a calm and inviting space that is perfectly set up to invigorate your ears with your favorite music.
I was greeted by Chelsea. She was welcoming, super knowledgeable and extremely generous with the time she spent with me. I had a nice relaxed experience listening to the Wharfedale line of speakers that I had been reading about and seeing in online reviews. The kind of listening experience you get at Modus AV is simply not available at a big box retail store, where all manner of extraneous noise overwhelms your senses, not allowing you to really hear the speakers you’re trying to listen to.
Modus AV is a family owned and operated business. And while they also specialize in residential and commercial home audio/visual systems and automation, it is clear they have a passion for two channel listening and related audio components, having the expertise to guide newbies and experienced listening enthusiasts alike.
If you’re dipping your toes into the world of audio fidelity for the first time or are looking to bump up to the next level of musicality for your home, it was clear to me that Modus AV has something for just about everybody. While there are a couple of decent standalone audio stores in Atlanta, I feel that Modus AV stands out as the Gem of Gwinnett for audio stores.
We all love music and the way it can transport us to a past time and place, or let the feelings of what we’re experiencing in the moment be fully felt. If you’ve only experienced music on a phone or a single Bluetooth speaker box, understand there is more to be heard, experienced and felt with even very modest home audio components. Life’s short. And it’s way too short for listening to your favorite music through crummy speakers. A rainy day is a good time to stay inside listening to music, but don’t wait for a rainy day to stop in to experience the Listening Room at Modus AV. Your ears will be...
Read moreThis has been a long time coming. I came across Modus when I was looking to purchase a particular amp. The brand is not widely carried in the area, but Modus had it. I called to inquire about it and spoke with Leonard. We spoke briefly about my current equipment and setup a time for a demo. I arrived for the demo, was greeted by Leonard who led me to the amp where he had hooked up a set of the same speakers I was currently running and told me to have fun. I came away impressed--I bought the amp, but even more so with Modus and in particular Leonard who shared input on the equipment, suggested songs to play to emphasize different dynamics, bands to listen to, etc. A few months later, I decided to purchase a CD player. I made a call to Leonard to bounce ideas off of him and soon headed to Modus for a much shorter demo. A brief listen a couple of questions for Leonard and another purchase was made. The brands that Modus AV carries are great, but the difference is the people. I have met Mark, the owner, and his daughter who are both great too. Whenever I make any future purchases, my first step will be to...
Read moreTaking a quick min to give an overwhelming thanks to @modus_av. Leonard invited me and couple friends up to pick up a few items I ordered. First and foremost, the hospitality was second to know. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, inviting and sincere with the products they offer. If this is not enough to convince you, how about the 30k KEF speakers they had for demo. Leonard had absolutely no problem being straight forward and honest with his recommendations. Needless to say I will be dealing with these guys for many years to come and I know my friends already have their hearts set on a few items. See you all soon and thanks again for everything. Oh, before I forget, major S/O to Mark for getting my stuff in on such a short notice and his daughter for the wonderful gift bags. It’s the small things that go so far. Thank you all for the...
