Tea House — Restaurant in Lakewood

Looking for a really good Chinese place that has pepper steak. Nobody has pepper steak out here. Came here because of the reviews 2 IMPORTANT things to know 1. It’s Cash ONLY and it’s a ATM located around the corner in the hall in case you forget! 2. It’s located inside the food court we didn’t know that and walked thru the entire shopping center several times before we found it. I almost gave up got some tacos and a torta but we found it. It was a bit of a line but it moved very fast. They give you a little keychain with a number on it while you wait. Our wait was like 12 mins. While we waited we saw her bring out a big ol bowl of their seafood noodle soup and OMG it looked and smelled so amazing. We will definitely be getting that on our next trip. The garlic fried chicken was hot and crunchy. You can definitely taste the garlic it was good and not too overpowering. The house fried rice had chicken, beef and shrimp. It was well seasoned but texture wise it felt like it had a gravy in it. Still tasty even though it isn’t what we are used to. Now for the pepper steak. What we made the trip for in the 1st place. It was delicious. The beef didn’t have a wired taste to it like everyone else’s beef n broccoli. The onions and peppers were perfectly cooked. Soft but still had a bit of a crunch to it when you bite into it. The gravy was delicious as well. I was introduced to the Teahouse by my husband several years ago and this is still one of our favorite Asian restaurants. It's small and located inside the food court at B&I so you might miss it if no one tells you about it.

My husband orders their sesame chicken and asks them to leave the lid open so the outside stays crunchy yum. I order their Mongolian beef (which isn't spicy but sweet) or the Peking pork chops which are super delicious and not too sweet. They have big portions too which is a bonus.

Their food is always on point except for a couple years ago when something happened with management and I think there was a new chef. I'm glad everything's back to nornal though cause this...

The Tea House located in the b&i in Tacoma has been landmark inside of a landmark. I have been eating at the Teahouse forever. I watched our daughters grow up together. And the food is absolutely fantastic the garlic chicken wings are out of this world. I haven't found a place that makes them quite like they do. Great customer service, quick if you call in an order and they give u a time, it's ready. So if you're down this way and looking for great Chinese food and even greater garlic chicken stop by The Tea House inside the b&i. They're closed on Wednesdays...
