I had two procedures done in the same week. In the past both the colonoscopy and endoscopy were done at the same time. However, the doctors at United Gastroenterologists (whose office is right next door) said they don’t do them at the same time because they can’t bill for 2 separate surgeries. That said, as a patient you must do the prep twice AND you must be put under twilight anesthesia twice and you must pay twice.
The first Billings from each group were billed separately and the insurance adjustments weren’t reflected, so I waited for multiple statements to show the adjustments. Well...... United Gastroenterologists reported our unpaid bill to a collection agency during the same month more insurance adjustments were being posted.
These 2 facilities are related and share ownership..... their billing practices absolutely make sure they charge as much for services as they possibly can, while making it impossible to decipher what charges are for for what.
I’ve had these routine procedures done 2 times in Orange County. It was a breeze and both times the procedures were done at the same time. Bother we’re billed at the same time. That’s exactly how it should’ve been this time, but it wasn’t.
I will never use either company again. It’s too comfusing and irritating...
Read moreI’d like to preface this review by saying I am a healthcare professional. As a patient in this facility, I overheard an interaction between a physician (Dr. Yi Cao) and patient that was the most inappropriate interaction I’ve yet to hear in my career. After dosing the patient with Valium, the physician grew extremely frustrated with the patient questioning the discharge follow up. The physician used terms like “I literally just told you that, but you don’t seem to get it” and “It’s clear you need a social worker or psychologist right now.” As the patient remained calm, anxious, and requesting the physician stop speaking so aggressively towards her, the physician then told the patient “you’re holding up my morning so I’m taking you off my caseload.” The physician went on to tell the patient she’s having her office drop her from her caseload before walking away. The physician then told the nurses to discharge the patient because she is no longer comfortable doing the procedure. The patient was out the door within three minutes. I asked to speak with the AOD or charge nurse, to report the incident but was never approached. I will never recommend this facility, as there is clearly no bedside manner, administration, or understanding of patient...
