Toast Breakfast and Lunch, tucked away in Temecula, is a breakfast lover’s dream and the kind of place where you’d feel good about unbuttoning your jeans after a hearty meal—if only we were still living in the age of low-rise pants. This independent spot has a warm, down-to-earth vibe that makes it feel like a cozy breakfast nook straight out of your Pinterest board, minus the DIY anxiety.
The decor is a delightful mix of rustic charm and modern touches, perfect for those “casual brunch with friends” Instagram shots. It’s the kind of place where mason jars make frequent appearances, but thankfully, nobody’s trying to sell you overpriced kombucha. The open layout and soft lighting add to the welcoming atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for everything from family gatherings to a quiet meal with a good book.
As for the service, the staff couldn’t have been friendlier if they tried. They were quick to smile, even quicker to refill my coffee, and made excellent menu suggestions without a hint of pretentiousness. When I politely asked for less whipped cream on my Sweet Potato Pumpkin Pancakes, they complied—though I suspect they may have a quota to meet because that whipped cream mountain could have suffocated a small animal. But hey, they tried!
Now, let’s talk about the food. I ordered the Corned Beef Skillet, and let me just say, if this dish could speak, it would say, “Sit down, you’re home now.” The skillet was packed with savory, tender corned beef, crispy potatoes, and fresh veggies, all crowned with a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg. It was the kind of hearty meal that convinces you a nap should follow breakfast, and I’m not mad about it.
The Sweet Potato Pumpkin Pancakes were like autumn on a plate—fluffy, warm, and spiced just right. Though they went a little overboard with the whipped cream, the pancakes themselves were delicious. Each bite tasted like a warm hug from your favorite sweater, and honestly, that’s all I’m looking for in life.
The menu is like a breakfast and lunch choose-your-own-adventure. Whether you’re a die-hard egg enthusiast, a pancake devotee, or just someone trying to figure out if avocado toast is worth the hype (spoiler: it is), you’ll find something to love. They also have a nice variety for those who are gluten-free, vegetarian, or just indecisive.
When it comes to pricing, Toast hits that sweet spot between “treat yourself” and “ok, I can still pay my rent.” The Corned Beef Skillet was around $14, and the Sweet Potato Pumpkin Pancakes were $12—totally reasonable for the portion sizes, which, let’s be honest, are big enough to feed you and your food-stealing friend.
Cleanliness? Spot on. This place was as neat as your mom’s kitchen during Thanksgiving prep, and the bathrooms were equally pristine. I didn’t see any health protocols that would make you want to break into a rendition of “Safety Dance,” but everything felt clean and comfortable.
Overall, Toast Breakfast and Lunch gets my full recommendation, especially if you’re looking for a place that feels like a hug in restaurant form. It’s great for family outings, brunch with friends, or even a solo breakfast with a book. Just watch out for the whipped cream—unless you’re trying to set a...
Read moreWhat a fantastic eating experience at Toast Temecula! From beginning to end, every part of our experience was nothing short of spectacular. Our taste buds were treated to a delectable symphony of flavors that really wowed us.
I chose the Corned Beef Skillet, and it was a choice I will never regret. The pecorino potatoes, bell peppers, onions, brussel sprouts, and garlic nicely matched the delicate and savory house-cured corned beef. The combination was a work of art, and the freshly cooked eggs on top were the perfect finishing touch. Not to mention the toast, a simple addition that lifted the dish to new heights, this skillet was a delicious, filling joy that I can't wait to try again.
My wife's Cream Brûlée French Toast was a delicious surprise. Each mouthful was a delectable combination of rich custard-infused bread, caramelized sugar, and the ideal texture balance. The Bacon and Eggs side dish was a traditional choice that added a savory touch to the dinner.
Our son's "eh" answer to the Hashbrowns was unexpected, but his admiration for the fluffy and flawless Pancakes more than made up for it. The basic Pancakes were well-received, and the side of Bacon and Hashbrowns completed his meal beautifully.
To wash down these delectable dishes, my wife and I enjoyed two exceptional coffee creations. Her Toasted Coconut Latte was a tropical delight, while my regular Latte was expertly crafted and the ideal complement to the meal.
However, it was Karol P's exceptional service that actually made our time unforgettable. Her attention to detail, friendliness, and genuine concern for our eating experience were genuinely admirable. She treated us as valued guests and made certain that every aspect was flawless.
We left Toast Temecula with full hearts and happy palates, anticipating our next return. If you happen to be in town, this is a definite must-see. The wide menu selections, superb flavors, and first-rate service combine to provide an unparalleled dining experience. Everyone looking for a memorable gastronomic trip...
Read morePrices are reasonable. The drink menu is extensive. It takes up the entire back side of the menu. Gourmet coffees, mimosas etc.... The food side of the menu not so much. A third was breakfast types of foods but the dishes are very specific like peach or almond crepes no option for maybe a strawberry topping etc. Other parts of the menu were lunch types of food. The food was good. The environment was friendly and warm. Even though the place was packed it didn't seem too loud to hold a private conversation. We had a couple of issues. First, my husband drink was a coconut latte or something of that nature. When they brought it we saw it had actual coconut on half of it. He likes coconut flavor but not actual real coconut so we asked them to remake the drink without the real coconut shavings. We discussed maybe just scooping out the coconut ourselves but we were told the shavings drift downward so they would make a new one. They came back with the "new" drink but all they did was scoop off the coconut and it was super obvious they did it. They didn't even fix the leaf design in the foam so it was very obvious. We asked for it to be taken off of the bill. Second, I asked for eggs fried hard, that means no runny portions. I discussed it in detail only to flip it over and it oozed and oozed runny egg. They brought me a second egg cooked throughout but by that point I was no longer interested in eating one. These issues are minor but they stood out. I don't want to be tricked. If your going to remake the drink then actually do it don't lie to your customers. The waitstaff was courteous however. We probably won't go back. It just didn't grab our taste buds like that. I left wondering if I went back "what would I be interested in ordering"? 'nothing' was my...
