I was so excited to have discovered the in store experience of At Home until today. My husband and I had stopped in and stumbled upon this adorable set of 1 gallon glass drink dispensers, which was going to be perfect in time for summer. I had thought the price of $50 was a little steep, especially since you could find the exact same thing from Goodwill for like $5 but we liked the "quality" and and that it was brand new. However, we took and it home and opened it a few days later and it was completely missing the stand to hold the glass jars and one of the jars had brown liquid stained at the bottom! So the product they let us spend money on and walk out with was used and missing pieces so naturally I took it back. When I explained the situatuion to the exact same older woman who checked us out when we bought it, her first reaction was not to apologize for the inconvience but rather grill me as why to I didn't rush back to the store the exact minute we found the discrepency. I was taken aback because I have never been a difficult customer but to immidiately be met with questions that accuse me of being in the wrong for simply purchasing a proudct from their shelves felt backwards. She asked "why did you wait so long to return it" and not that she even deserves a response but we don't live in the area, so I had to spend my gas money and waste my time to correct a mistake of the employees of At Home so yes, I was going to do it when I had time. She gets flustered and calls her manager up, who asks about the details of the situation and a different male employee says "Oh yeah I've seen that happen a lot of times. Like people will use it for Labor Day and then return it with missing pieces." The entire experience was honestly flabbergasting because it was their responsibilities as people who work their to make sure if someone did return soemthing, that it was never used and in good shape. But all three interactions I had, they accused me of being the problem and it was just the absolute worst customer service experience I've ever had. No wonder the store was completely empty both times I went becacuse people would rather spend their hard earned money at Amazon or Walmart since they don't accuse their customers of being a thief before trying to fix a mistake that was their fault in the first place.
The cashier then asked " do you want to go get another one?" I laughed out loud. Why would I ever support a place that treats people this way? 0/10. Not worth your time, just...
Read moreFirst and foremost I was looking for patio cushions (that happened to be out of season) just three weeks ago and got two cushion chairs that were 50% off in the same area shown in the picture below.
However today's shopping experience was not that pleasant. I was directed to Kory a female manager who showed a lackluster attitude and a condescending tone when I asked how come my cushions ring up full price.
All Kory wanted to do was read to me the sign as if I was illiterate and could not read it my own self and tell me that the sign does not say "all" cushions.
I quickly had to tell Kory do not talk to me like that and it was clear by her demeanor that she was there not to help but to read a sign.
A sign that was very misleading when it has arrows pointing to a location.
But today I am supposed to based on the signage attempt to figure out which cushions are on sale again beyond a clearance tag because the signage does is points to where the cushions are.
But all Kory the manager could do was focus on the fact that the sign did not say all cushions.
It amazes me how a store such as this large can employ a manager that has no empathy or experience in customer service. Not a pleasant experience dealing with Kory today at all and I let her know that I would be attempting to reach corporate or a district manager to go over the shopping experience and interaction I had with their manager Kory.
What happened to customer service especially in times like these definitely not handled appropriately by Kory...
