DO NOT BUY FISH HERE. Apparently this store is great for dogs and cats, etc.. I wish I could say the same for fish. They do have a wide selection of cichlids which is why I went here. However myself and a friend both purchased fish from this location and had ich in our tanks literally days later, so we know it came from this store, hadn't recently added fish from anywhere else. As well I added fish to two of my tanks, and snails for food to one other tank. The tank i added the snails to only has one fish in it. A rare species of a green spotted puffer, his tank had nothing else in it with him ever, so again, dead give away the ich came from this location. That would have not been a big deal if that was all, if you have an aquarium you will probably deal with ich eventually. It's what happened after, and how the store dealt with our experience that deserves this review.
We contacted the store to let them know we brought home ich from their tanks. The person that answered the phone said they would let their manager know but did not seem to care much. That threw me off so I drove by the store the next day to see if they were still selling fish, which they were. Any fish store that has ich needs to stop selling fish immediately when they've been told or see ich. It takes a minimum of 10 days to treat ich, so they should not be selling fish with parasites. I contacted corporate and let them know my experience. Afterward I received an email from a contact at the store, she said they would make sure they double checked the tanks, etc.. she also offered gift cards, which was not my goal, but I did tell her I would accept due to the fact that I had to spend money to replace a fish that died from the ich, as well as supplies to deal with the ich in my aquariums. After I emailed her back I NEVER heard from her again. I even waited a week and sent a second follow up email and still haven't heard from her over a month later now. In my mind that pouring gas on the fire to reach out to a customer that has already been having a horrible experience with your store, then when the customer responds, you never answer. So I contacted corporate again to let them know the situation. They once again had the store contract me, and here we are, almost a month and half later and im still feeling like petsmart just does NOT care about the experience you have in...
Read moreI searched all stores within 5 or so miles from my home including the Petsmart at 1140 W. Elliot Rd in Tempe which I shop at the most and was not able to find the Purina One sensitive stomach formula. All I could find was the sensitive SKIN and stomach formula, they only ate a small amount then refused to eat again. That small amount started adverse reactions in them. I had no choice but to buy something different. My twin cats were weaned from their mom too soon and have extremely sensitive systems, the sudden switch caused severe vomiting, gas, stomach aches and diarrhea, not to mention my interrupted sleep because they felt so bad. I made five trips to the store on Elliot within a two week time frame and talked with Meagan at least three of those trips. She suggested I try a probiotic instead of another different food. My worry at this point was they were eating minimal amount of a kitten formula, but still had severe diarrhea and starting to dehydrate. On day three of the probiotic we saw some improvement. Day four is even better! They are drinking more water again and their stools are starting to be more solid. I came back in today to get more of the Wellness Core kitten food but the shelf was empty. The guy at the register checked the back for any size bag but did not find any, he said the kitten formula just had more fat and calories than the adult one. I really appreciate that he was knowledgeable and truly cared! Meagan walked by and stopped to ask about the cats (she remembered!) and she took time to help me compare the labels and call other stores to see if anyone else had the one I wanted. Everyone has been so understanding and helpful in this stressful time. This is my store of choice from now on! If I could give Meagan a raise or award I would in a heartbeat. I want to officially pass on my gratitude to all the employee's...
Read moreI had my dog groomed on Sunday, and paid for the upgraded package to have a few extra things done, as she needed it. In the package, it states "full blow dry, brush out, nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, paw pad trim to neaten the feet & sanitary trim" I noticed in a picture my husband sent me when he picked her up that she did not have her paws trimmed and called the grooming department. When I brought it up, the groomer, Roman, said it wasn't standard to do unless requested. When I brought up the details of the package, he was nonchalant and said most pet parents don't prefer it. He did say I could bring my dog in on Tuesday to get her paws trimmed. Today is Tuesday, I brought my dog in and spoke with whom I assume is the grooming manager as she was wearing a headset and asked the same questions, and she had the same response. So this makes me question if all locations are the same, as a different location we frequented never had this issue. (We moved and this location was closer to home). She had a different groomer, I think Noah, take care of my dog and during her quick sessions, she slipped off the table and I didn't see Noah attempt to grab my dog. Some other employee, not in the grooming uniform grabbed my dog and put her back up. Instead, Noah just said "maybe you should just stay there and not leave, haha" huge red flag right there for me. We got home, and again, I re-read the service description and remained curious if she even got the sanitary trim, and after checking I noticed that wasnt done as well. We paid $86 in total for the service for it to be incomplete ($45 for the bath and brush, and $35 for the upgraded "Plus" package) plus tax I'd assume. We are less than pleased, and contemplating if we will even return to have our dog groomed...
