Costco Wholesale — Local services in Tempe

Im giving Costco 5 stars because I just love, come here 2x a week for pretty much everything I need. BUT today I had the worse experience I’ve had in all my years, all my trips, all different locations in two different states. This checker CARISMA with green and black hair. I was standing in the self check out with two ‘groups’ (so really 4) of the small weather proof totes. I’m waiting in line, cards are ready in my hand to make it a quick check out. I’m assuming it’s like previous times where I walk up with someone big an employee come sober scans some bar codes then scans my items, I make eye contact with carisma she’s standing in the middle not helping other guests and is free, then its my turn I speed walk up scan my membership and assume she’s coming right over to scan my heavy totes (I’m 5’3’ and 110lbs) but nope she avoids my eye contact and just stands there. I’m so exhausted from the moving I’ve been doing for two days, hence the need to purchase more totes, that I’m just so frustrated. I pick up one of the bundles and start moving it around so I can find the bar code, which isn’t easy because this is an item that needs to be scanned with a gun, that I have to slam it on the machine which I don’t like, she hears the slam it’s pretty obvious and still keeps standing in the middle, then I go through the two minute process with the other one. I am very annoyed, I check out quick as possible and for the first time in my MILLIONS of trips (I’m an excecutive member) she does not say have a good good day, no greeting of any sort and no goodbye and thank you for shopping at Costco either. Costco on Elliot, I send her to the back to move big wear house items or give her some more training. You have SO many great, awesome, thoughtful employees. I’d hate to see a bad seed like this ruin your reputation for THE best customer service. I will def be back probably not to this store unless I HAVE to but thanks for everything else, good luck with CARISMA she def doesn’t live...

I usually don't write reviews with information such as this, but this expereince was too ignorant to miss. BY far the worst costco with the most rude and uneducated staff I have ever experienced at any costco. My husband has a registered therapy animal. When we entered a lady stopped by husband and said he cannot enter. Didn't ask for papers didn't ask for clarification and immediately called security and the manager as she walked away saying "I don't making the effing rules." Didn't get a single word out other than "we understand you don't..." and was trying to explain but she walked away. It the most embarrassing and most ignorant experience from a Costco associate I have ever experienced along with husband. Imagine walking in trying to get the words " she's a registered therapy dog for ptsd" not finishing your sentence and having an angry lady call security on your family without asking for any clarification. My suggestion would be severe consideration and training, and serious consideration of this individual and her ignorance to Arizona State laws and unfortunate attitude. Unfortunately we were unable to get her name but she was working the front entrance about 10 mins prior to this review. Manager was fine about it, but the lady who acted with her emotions rather than objectiveness needs consideration and some guidance, along with training. This was an unnecessary encounter that could've been prevented if she had been more objective, and knowledgeable. Security walked up and started to ask what was going on immediately without consideration of the situation luckily the manager deescalated lucikly, good for him on handling thw situation, and asking eveyone to basically leave us alone. He was kind. Thank you. Such a shame to treat people with mental health needs in such a manner. So inconsiderate and ignorant. So unfortunate. Will never return to this location...

If president and CEO and Director Ron Vachris would take your closer look at this area of GLENDALE. It sits in the middle of some of the most prosperous homeowners! More millionaires per capita. More restaurants, per capita right here on W. Bell Rd. This store specifically caters to people attending the State Farm Stadium, whether it be for major RV shows, cardinal football games, fiesta Bowl, or even Super Bowls most everybody stays here close to Westgate Mall and arrowhead Mall. There's a new POORE store right outside the door, a Cadillac store even closer a brand new Trader Joe's just out the front door and then you have the lights of Mercedes, Lexus, and Infiniti as well as BMW all less than 3/4 of a mile away! There's also a major In-N-Out Burger location! So everything taking place in the store needs to be higher end because everything else around it speaks of higher end accept this Costco location in 85308! This GLENDALE store benefits from higher end class a and Major League Baseball teams during spring training plus all of their families who come to the valley for the great weather. Then you have more than 250,000 snowbird to live in rentals or second homes in Peoria Glendale And Sun City and Sun City West who all rely on the Glendale store being at a superb high end level. Major League Baseball contributes $800 million during their 45 to 60 days they are here. If the powers that be would really bump up the inventory here like they do at the Scottsdale store or they do at Summerlin Las Vegas location in ZIP Code 89147. I guarantee you the Glendale store will ultimately become their flagship property out performing all other Arizona stores in a heartbeat! They will also outperform the Las Vegas store located in 89147 and the Scottsdale store just across the belt loop. Let's...
