I honestly cannot say enough great things about this place.
tl;dr: If you have any reservations whatsoever, donât. You will not regret it.
Came into town visiting family looking for something fun to do, and the TikTok gods brought me to Dallas Silk Art. The concept looked so cool and fun on social media, and was even more amazing in person. The storefront (we went to the location in Grandscape, accommodates up to six people) is small and quaint from the outside, but the clean, colorful decor was inviting and made for a pleasant first impression. There is an ample amount of variety in what you can choose to color (hats, multiple sizes of silk scarfs, coasters, planters, bracelets, etc.) which was nice. Our instructor, Gwen, was an absolute joy with her light-hearted instruction and patience every step of the way. She made it simple to understand and was very encouraging when I felt stuck on my masterpiece not looking âperfectâ. The process of picking out colors, creating my unique pattern, and seeing the results was a blast! Two hours may not seem like enough time, but trust me, it will fly by with lots of time to spare (even if you have a hard time deciding what design to make).
The activity was very family friendly (brought my newborn niece along, eight-year-old nephew participated with ease). Beware, very addicting! My family is itching to go back and I know itâll definitely be my first stop the next time I visit Dallas. Wishing we had something similar in...
Read moreFive of us attended this class, three in which were teenagers. The teenagers were skeptical at first but this turned out to be more fun than anyone expected. The staff was very flexible and accommodating from the day I booked the appointment. Scheduling on-line was easy and my questions and concerns were quickly addressed in a response to my email. Our class instructor was super friendly and easy going. She laughed and joked with us and made us feel right at home. She gave us simple directions with a demonstration and then let us make our designs as we wanted. She was always right there to help when we needed it. There was such a large variety of items to choose from and almost every color you could want. In our four day trip to Dallas, this turned out to be everyoneâs favorite event. I would recommend anyone thinking about it to just go do it. It is something we will do again when...
Read moreOverall good experience but took stars off because I asked if I can do the transfer of the art on paper on my own with me being responsible if does not transfer as it should be. I was ok if something goes wrong and I would be happy to pay but the lady was no . I and my group went there to learn and have fun but there were restrictions which was not appreciated. Oh well good to know now that we donât get to experience the entire process. Beside that worth the money not really. One of my friends didnât transfer the paint. If she was suggested or given enough information then she would have used different color like base to be white on wood material. She was upset coz now she is stuck with a piece which barely has any...
