My husband and I arrived at the hotel on July 19th,2019 to celebrate our 25th wedding Anniversary. We were impressed with the size of the rooms as well as the location. The room did not have a microwave which was a shock, but the rest of the room was good. On the following day we decided to get out and enjoy Dallas.for the day. Before we left I put my belongings inside my traveling suitcase, such as my perfume, lotion ,etc.so it would not be a temptation to the person that was assigned to clean our room. Well the following day while getting dressed for church service I go in my traveling bag and my Tommy Hilfiger perfume is missing, which happened to be the only bottle of perfume I had with me. When we returned from church service to get our things to check out, I go to the front desk and mention it to the supervisor, which stated they hardly have any theft, and she would have the general manager to contact me the next day, which he did only to make me feel like I was lying,or wrong for leaving it in my personal traveling bag(suitcase) with all of my personal things, and in a room that we paid for. He kept saying our workers have been here for over 10 years, and they normally turn in what they find in rooms that’s left behind, and they hardly have any theft. I told him I’m glad you think so highly of your workers but this is one time they let you down because they went through my personal things and stole my perfume. Is the perfume a big deal? No I had plenty of bottles at home, and my husband just replaced it. The BIG DEAL is they went inside my bag and got it out. It was not a matter of leaving it there and the worker turn it in, it was a matter of them going through my personal things while having access to our room. So much for him calling back only to praise his worker who is a thief.. My advice to anyone that stays at this location is, TAKE ALL of your belongings with you each time you leave , even to just go out and eat, or you may have something missing. The GM only offered me an apology, which wasn’t secure because he would come right back and praise his workers. What a poor excuse for a manager, GM at that. I worked over 10 years in hotel business at a very upscale hotel in Little Rock,Arkansas and there is no way the GM would have treated any guess, making them feel like they were wrong. The least thing she would have done was offered them something for their missing item and inconvenience. Did he? No he didn’t, maybe because I was nice and perfessional over the telephone. Would I stay at the location...
Read moreSo many things went wrong with this place. 1st, it's kind of difficult to get into. You gotta make a U turn on the street it is located on then turn into the hotel... if your coming from the interstate. 2nd (and it's a big one), the floor in our room by the AC unit was soaked which caused the room to have mold and mildew. We moved rooms 3 times to get a room that did not have mold in the AC or smelled. 3rd, the hotel says it that it has in house dining/room service that is available 24 hrs. a day. This is for the most part, a lie. They have food that they pre make and keep in a cooler (sandwiches, yogurt, drinks and side items like chips and cookies). There were several nights my husband needed to stay in and work so we thought we would order from the "Gallery Menu". Ham and cheese sandwiches get boring real quick. 4th is the layout of the rooms. Don't get me wrong... large rooms are nice, especially considering my husband and I both are 6 ft +. That being said, I do not enjoy a bathroom that I have to step into the shower in order to close the bathroom door. As you can see in pics, I used my flip flop to measure. For reference, I wear a ladies size 11. The rooms have couches that seat 5 to 6 and a 1/2 wall separating the "living/kitchen area from the bed. The entire concept is a waste of space. Come to find out... all of the Hyatt Place hotels are like this. And last, the cable issue. In today's world where there is a plethora of entertainment available 24/7/365 on hundreds of devices... what kind of place offers 40 channels of cable? As far as amenities, we had a small fridge, no microwave and the coffee maker was broken. The one thing that I did love about this place were the employees. All of them were so super nice. If they hadn't been so accommodating, we would have found another place. Everyday they checked on us and really made...
Read moreWe had a fantastic stay here! We had a group of 5 fitting into one room so our experience was definitely unique. After a nightmare Airbnb experience left us without a clean place to stay for the week, we ended up finding a great rate at this hotel on a room with two beds and a pullout couch. It ended up being perfect for us!
The room was spacious, clean, and well appointed with plenty of charging points for devices, storage for clothes and toiletries, plus a great I/O setup for the TV which is something that is often overlooked in hotels. The beds, linens, and pillows were all clean and very comfortable. My only complaint about the room is the size of the bathroom, it is a TIGHT squeeze which is a trend I have noticed at many other Hyatt properties across the US.
A few other important points include the breakfast options which were plentiful and the hot items were rotated daily which was nice to see. The location is fantastic, you have tons of great dining and shopping options just minutes from your room. While the area is not THE safest you can have in Dallas (I had heard stories of car break-ins so be careful), we never felt unsafe outside the hotel. We did however feel put off if not slightly unsafe via the elevators. They are old, covered in graffiti, and make all sorts of odd noises. They would sometimes take quite a while to start moving which definitely scared us more than once. Fortunately we didn’t end up having a problem.
Last but not least are the staff, everyone we interacted to from check-in to check-out to breakfast to housekeeping were fantastic. So kind and professional. Overall this is a fantastic property for the...
