We walked in and waited about 4 mins wondering if we needed to be seated. We went to the bar and stood lookng around. The bartender ignored us. I noticed a server on the side of the bar she noticing us. My gf decided to go back to the door and wait. There was no sign stating whether we should wait to be seated or seat ourselves. We waited a few more minutes before i finally usher my gf to a table and say let's just seat ourselves. Before we reach the table directly 2 seats from the bar where the server was standing she walks over and literally bumrushes us talking super fast stating hey welcome next time wait to for the hostess. My gf works in fine dining we know how this goes. She responds there is no hostess. She counters back without letting us say much else that she's probably in the back. As I write this I have been sitting here for 30 mins there has been one other couple walk in and sat behind us with the same server. There is still no hostess at the entrance. When this couple was sat (not sure by who) the same server walked up, introduced herself, went over the menu with them, asked about allergies. Eavesdropping we finally learned her name. It's Blair. Now Blair may just talk really fast and definitely already soured our mood by being incredibly rude. But her service has also been trash. She has not offered an ounce of hospitality that she has offered this other couple behind us. It's really unfortunate. And before you ask yes they are, and yes we are. I'm not going to go so far as to say that race is at play here but her attitude was rude. Very obvious the difference in her attitude when dealing with us. Took about 25 more minutes and 4xs to come back before she started overcompensating and being overly nice. She tried really hard to swallow her pride and was still quite rude, biting through her teeth to sound nice and hospitable at first but then just dropped the act altogether. My gf work in fine dining so we're discussing what happened and over and over more staff come up to the this area behind us and just stand there surveying the restaurant. I notice and just watch them trying to overhear the conversation. Ultimately I decided to just post the experience here. I wish it was better. It was date night. I'm allergic to shellfish so I didn't eat but overall I don't think I would have stayed had it not been for my gf being extremely hungry and wanting to recover the night. She continued to overcompensate, call us sweetie, gorlfriemd etc. (Sorry the damage is done.) Wrote thank you on our ticket. It's just forced at this point when a proper conversation or an apology would have sufficed. She also didn't bother explaining the drink prices. Just stated oh I'll have you charge you full price. Full price and the difference in the drink my gf was asking for was 50cents. Blair just sucked all around. Frankly I don't care if the staff responds or not. Do better at training your staff. I will certainly be back because I want to try the Japanese old fashioned but we'll see. Also still no hostess and another group just walked in and had to wait 3+ mins before being acknowledged even tho a server was standing 2 tables away. When she did acknowledge them, they still had to wait until someone else seated them. (I'm pretty sure this is just an off night for them.) 2 stars for food presentation and the old fashioned was good. Will update...
Read moreI had a not so great experience last time I didn't make a review about, and I came 07/13 at lunch to use my birthday coupon to try and have a better time.
It was significantly worse. To start with the first table we were brought to was dirty, but the seats had food and ANTS crawling around them. All of the booths we saw were dirty and/or had ants. We ended up at the mini connected booth options directly in from of the doors. Thankfully no ants there. The table had dried cleaner all over however.
The pepsi I ordered tasted diet and left a weird residuey feeling in my mouth so I ordered a mango lemonade instead. That arrived well into my meal, while still waiting for the person I was with to get their miso soup. We had to ask for it right before getting their food to go because I was almost done with mine and we had an appointment to make.
The drinks despite taking a while were good. And the sushi I had was better than last time. But the environment was extremely uncomfortable, and the hostess seemed more off put by our discomfort with the food and bugs than by the fact that there were bugs in their restaurant. I also never saw her go back to do anything about the ants, yet I did see other people get sat at that table.
They took off some money for our unreasonably long wait and the drink issue. But we were repeatedly told that there was only one server and that's why service took so long, but the food shouldn't have taken so long if servers were the issue. It does explain why my drinks were extremely watered down by the time they arrived though.
And we did in fact see another person helping, so that may have been kitchen staff or something but there were definitely two people delivering things. The second one had her thumb in some stacked bowls she was bringing to someone. Like in the center part all the way.
The glass bowls for holding soy sauce on our table had residue on them as well, so I poured it directly on my plate as the only (hopefully) clean surface.
So tl;Dr Most of the place was dirty, service was lacking or poor, and the prices are too high for that.

Read moreUnfortunately, this did not start off great! First of all my husband and I decided to go here for dinner with the kids. I also had a $20 gift certificate because of my birthday, so why not. Well….. we got here and decided to do the patio since it’s a really nice night, the host first tells us that he only has high tables available….. we have a 2 year old with us! There was a family that came in with a small baby and they sat them at a small table…. No biggie since we planned on patio seating anyway. The host told us he don’t know when a patio seat would be available because the servers had to clean the tables. 🤔 anyway so the tables get cleaned, but not completely with still crumbs on the table and a chair, and if you have toddlers, you know they put everything in their mouths so we just asked if he didn’t mind another wipe down because of the crumbs. We told him about the chair as well, and instead of wiping the chair, which my daughter was going to sit in, he decided to pick up the chair over my husband’s head, without saying excuse me or anything, then dropped the chair from another table there, very aggressively! I spoke with the manager, and he said that he would talk with him…. Cool, but that was totally disrespectful! So we ordered sushi, and had fried rice for my daughter. The fried rice wasn’t good, but I wasn’t expecting that much from a sushi spot, I usually only go for sushi and sushi specialty restaurants. But we ordered the spicy shrimp maki, California roll, and the rainbow roll….. needless to say, they were basically all California rolls 😒 one with Tajin on top, normal California, and lastly one like nigiri just with a California roll under it. I’ve already decided not to go back because of the host and the disrespect, but I feel like the options were not that great. I’ll continue to frequent Blue Saki where I’ve received better service and better options… the hot peach sake was good though! Let me add to that the waitress and her crew were over in a corner talking about the tip that I left…. You should really not talk so loud, anyway…. The tip was generous being that she only came out twice and the 3rd time was for the check……...
