United States Postal Service — Local services in Thornapple Township

This is my local post office and they have routinely disappointed me. At one point I requested my packages be left at the office because I live in an apartment and I am worried about my packages being moved or taken by neighbors or visitors. As such, I call and ask them often if the package was taken by the driver because they still deliver small packages that will fit in my mailbox.

I have routinely called and they will either misplace it or tell me it is with the driver when actually it is at the office which makes me wait an additional day until I can pick it up. Many of the errors could be easily fixed by them taking a minute to actually look, which they do not.

I have also called to find out if I can pick up my package after 11am, and in stead of telling me they are already on lunch, they answer the phone, tell me i can pick it up, I go there only to waste time and gas to find out it IS their lunch period.

This post office is terrible, their customer service is awful although not intentionally mean, just inept. I have filed a complaint before only to be forwarded to this post office to lodge my complaint without further follow up or accountability from a higher office or official.

I have nothing but bad to say about this postal office. I'm normally not one to post reviews on places but I'm pretty fed up with the service. Not only do I live on a busy Street and constantly have my mail box being left open by the delivery person, but I don't get packages I order that have been shipped out. I ordered something on the 17th of December with 2 day shipping. The same exact night I ordered it, the company I ordered from had sent it out to USPS. USPS has STILL not gotten me my package. I stopped to see where it was and the lady at the front counter said it was delivered to the wrong house! How?? It has all my correct information on the package. I get mistakes happen, but this is rediculous. The least they could do is refund me my $100 for the package for their mistake that they won't own up to. This is not the first time I've came to drop off package that needed to go out for work. Wether it be a clients meds or blood work that needs to go out to the lab, or even personal mail. Today, I went to drop off a package, and clearly labeled all over that the middleville post office is open TIL noon. And closed from noon to 1:00 for lunch. Again this is NOT the first time I've shown up BEFORE noon and the post office as already CLOSED for lunch. I'm very displeased again. I only get one lunch to do this on, after that we are short staff so someone can run a package that should have been already dropped off but couldn't be because someone wanted lunch early. I was there today at 11:55 and lights off and door locked. I've been there before many times, but it seems like 10min before noon, and its more likely than not the post office has already closed.
