Thornapple Kitchen — Restaurant in Thornapple Township

The food is always good here, there has only been one exception, and that is today 4/21/21 at about 3 p.m.

I ordered chili dogs and fries (the special of this day) It was good until I found a piece of egg on my fries. I’m assuming that the egg was from that morning... not a good clean up job.

My wife also ordered the special (chili dogs) she also requested cheese and onions on her chili dogs, there were no cheese or onions on anything. She asked (again) for onions and cheese on her chili dogs.

Still no onion, but had cheese AND had chili and cheese on fries, that she didn’t ask for, but was good. She quietly told waitress about egg and also said, “I’m not trying to be mean, but you should try to listen better to your customers.” She immediately got defensive and stormed off mad! Not very professional or adult!

I seriously doubt that anything will be done about this if the restaurant owner...

The place sits in a strip mall type environment, and does not stand out in anyway. When you go in, it is bare bones, functional with seating and counter. I would not let this impact your decision to eat here, or you will miss out on some good food.

We have ordered from this place several times and it’s always been takeout so my dining in experience is unavailable.

I can only really account for the food that we order, which is the TK skillet and it is amazing. The to go plate is full with food and I would be surprised if one person can finish the entire thing in one sitting. It has great hashbrowns at the bottom And topped with egg and sawmill gravy with sausage. From my understanding, you can add additional meats such as bacon to the request, but we have not done so to date. I can’t say it won’t happen in the future though.

Hungry for some breakfast food, I would definitely make...

Honestly the best service I've had. Food comes at a pretty decent wait time. Entirely affordable prices. Very fresh ingredients. Plenty of seating space. The server went out of there way to offer exactly what we wanted on the lunch menu even though it was breakfast. There was a freezer burned tomato. They immediately told me about it asked me if I wanted a different one and gave me a different one. They use lots of recyclable paper materials including the straws and takeaway boxes cups and so forth. Table is stocked. Restaurant is a small hometown business that's been here for over 20 years and withstood the test of time through covid and so forth. Waitresses support the local football team. Vaulted ceilings. Would recommend to anyone! Would give 10 stars...
