The Nook — Restaurant in Thornapple Township

Unfortunately our experience did not match that of the Nooks 4.8 star rating. The layout is a bit too crammed for the tiny space. We could not comfortably sit across from one another at our table until the nearby table left. The beverage station is located right next to tables and the display of tiny cereal boxes is tacky.

Service was pretty good, but our server did not communicate why our food was taking an unusually long time...being that there were only 2-3 tickets in the window while our meal was being prepared, it should have not taken nearly as long as it did. It was a long long wait for a restaurant that only has 10 or so tables max.

My bagel breakfast sandwich was difficult to eat with majority of the avacado falling to my plate every time I took a bite. I would recommend mashing the avacado as opposed to slicing it in large slippery chunks. I would also have your servers ask your customers how they want the egg cooked as the sandwich would have been much better with an over medium egg (not the hard egg I got). The mixed berry French Toast was ok, but it was soggy and a tad bland. The coffee was not good. We would give the food 3.5 stars, certainly not 5.

Editing my review because I tried the place again and it was really great, not sure what they changed but the food came out amazing and the service was fantastic especially with my kids. It really makes or breaks a trip when the servers are annoyed that you have children, but the ladies were very sweet and helpful. Totally going in my list of regular places to visit😀

Its a cute little place, but I was a little disappointed in the food, it was extremely salty, my whole family was chugging water the rest of the day after brunch, and I ordered an eggs Benedict and the eggs on it were fried, Im sorry but the poached eggs are really a must for an eggs Benedict...

I'm really picky and honestly anyone else would have given a flawless rating. Omelet was slightly over cooked. Staff was friendly and easy on the eye's. (dressed well) Seating space is very limited not for a large party. more of a couple's or double date breakfast/lunch spot. Wait time was fairly good they were busy so I understand. Portion of order was spot on. Bit pricey but here your getting what your paying for. (Not by any implications very expensive) I might be a bit of a cheap skate. Blame my Dutch side. Overall a very good. Choices on parking is hard...
