Had a great time attending the Drink Mead, Learn Things: Collodion Tintype Photography event. First off, the place looks great - I could easily see myself sipping a cup of tea here, and getting lost in a book for an hour or more. The staff was inviting and attentive, the event was interesting and participatory, and most importantly, the mead was otherworldly good; I was really taken with The Legend of Grimsby Holllow. Their meads are complex in the best possible way, and they don't overdo any of the flavors combinations (i.e. the Becky Malone is a perfect example; a dry and subtle raspberry mead - a daunting task for raspberry perfectly executed!). Another aspect of this place is that they emphasize community inclusion; from the Learn Things series, board game nights, to the lovely welcome message on their window glass. I live a few hours away from this wonderful diamond in the middle of neverwhere; but thankfully they have a webstore so that I might share their meads with friends at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone into craft beverages. Save the bees, drink mead, and drink it at...
Read moreGrimsby Hollow is amazing!!! I cannot say enough good stuff about this place. The atmosphere, the amazing folks who work their, the food, the NAME! What an awesome name for a meadery, am I right? And of course, the mead itself. The meads are so unique and delicious. The staff are always planning out new flavors to make. And with the ability to mix 2 meads together in one glass or order a completely random mix of meads in one Polymorph Potion, you never run out of new flavors to try.
Update: Grimsby Hollow is as good as its ever been! The addition of flatbread pizzas to there menu has gotten me to fall in love with their menu all over again. And let's not forget the mead. So many good flavors on a rotating drink menu, Grimsby is definitely worth...
Read moreI just moved to middleville about a year ago and noticed this meadery in what seemed like an usual place far from the city. For the last year I’ve been talking with friends and family about how I’d like to check it out. I got my opportunity last weekend. My bestie and I had a girls night. The owners who are also the staff at the tasting room were amazing! So knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We literally tried eight meads a piece and loved everyone of them. We went away with three bottles of three different flavors because we couldn’t decide on our favorite. The atmosphere was so friendly and peaceful too. I’ve already recommended having a game night there to several people. I can’t wait to stop by and fill my yowler again or just chill for...
