Review for Kiehlâs Boutique â Washington Square Mall
I stopped by Kiehlâs at Washington Square Mall yesterday while shopping and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by two incredibly sweet employees. They were welcoming, professional, and eager to help without being pushy.
I had just made a few skincare purchases at a department store nearby, but after speaking with one of the Kiehlâs salespeople, I wished I had come here first. She was extremely knowledgeable, explaining the pros and cons of different products, including options for both men and women, those with SPF, body creams, eye creams, and moisturizers. She encouraged me to try the products, letting me smell and feel them, which made such a difference in my shopping experience.
What I really appreciated was her honesty and attention to detail. She made sure I knew about their 25% off sale, which, as it turns out, was not being honored at the department store next doorâeven though they had a sign up. That was disappointing, but it solidified my decision: from now on, I will only shop at the Kiehlâs boutique. Their team knows their products inside and out, including the ingredients and their benefits.
The boutique itself was clean, well-organized, and welcoming. My purchases were placed in a cute little organic bag, and she even threw in some samples for me to try, explaining what each one was for, which was a nice touch. I will most likely purchase these products in the future.

   Read moreHeard amazing things about kiehls from my friends and some influencers I follow, I went in all excited to check out what they had but also no idea what to look for exactly, there was a Asian lady with a face mask that was not really interested to help, Iâd ask her questions like âwhatâs your favorite productâ and sheâd respond to be cordial but you could tell she had no interest in helping me find something Iâd like. When my friend pointed at products she thinks Iâd like, I finally built up the courage to ask if I could test one of them and she stared at me thinking of how to respond, and she says they donât give samples without purchase and minimum only give 3. I have no problem enforcing policies, but my friend was with me the whole time and she said every time sheâs gone and even expressed the slightest interest, customer service would jump to offer samples with 0 hesitation. The moment I requested one it was like she had already decided she didnât want to help me or be of any service. My friend said sheâs never had that experience before and theyâve always been helpful to help you find products you like and that suit you⌠sheâs walked out with bags of samples before? And the only explanation why I didnât get anything close to that same effort is because I was dressed casual and I have a tan complexion. It was actually humiliating⌠to walk away feeling like I did something wrong when I went in just wanting to find a skincare product that would work for my skin. Iâve been using Kiehlâs for several years now & love the products, unfortunately this experience has permanently changed that & Iâll now go with another brand.
I purchased online for store pickup on 11/28. All 3 items were 30% off plus I had $20 in rewards that I used. The order was cancelled by the store as one of the items was out of stock.
I called customer service to inquire about the rewards & the rep said it would take 24-36 hours for them to show back up so I could replace the order. No biggie, Iâm patient.
I waited, but they never showed up. I called again & the rep said no, it should take up to 48 hours. No biggie, Iâm patient.

I waited again, but they never showed up. I called again & the rep said no, it should take a month⌠A month?!?! My time is valuable & I expect a higher level of integrity than this.
If doing the right thing doesnât mean anything to Kiehlâs, Iâm happy to spend my money elsewhere & support another brand.
