I went into Aspen dental because I knew I would need a lot of work done and most of the reviews are really good. I have an anxiety and panic disorder so I really want a dentist I could trust. Initial appointment went great and the staff was nice. When I was ready, I made my down payment and scheduled my first procedure for the same week. I was hyped they could get me in within just a couple days and I asked that they schedule me at a time that would have me out of their office by noon so I would be on time to work. After making that appointment the receptionist offered me an appointment card with that Friday at 11 am on it. Shortly after leaving I also got a confirmation email that said my appointment would be on Friday at 11am.
Fast forward to Thursday (today) and I get a text at noon that confirms once again my appointment is on Friday at 11am. Cool.
My confusion starts when the office receptionist calls me and asks to confirm my appointment at 12. I think she is confused so I tell her it should be at 11. She says no, it's at 12. I figure I must have it confused so I say okay.
I go and check my phone, my email, and my card and they all say 11am. Now I am concerned that the receptionist may have been confused or misread, and I don't want to come in too early and have to wait an hour to be seen plus be late to my job without notifying them ahead of time (obviously it doesn't look very good when I tell my boss 'hey I'm gonna be an hour late tomorrow sorry' the night before work), or that if I go in at noon they will tell me I missed my appointment. So, I call again to confirm. Receptionist says 12. I believe her but it is a little frustrating because now I have to tell my boss why I'm showing up late.I ask her why it was changed suddenly. She told me they did not change it. I tell her just two hours ago I got an automatic text plus I have an email AND a card with the date on it. I can tell the receptionist thinks I am being mad for no reason, so I tell her AGAIN I just wanted to know why it was changed. She repeats they did not change it but can't explain the email or the text. I feel like she is lying to me. She tells me she can reschedule it in October but I cannot have my original time because there is a patient scheduled there. I tell her that they must have changed it because there's no way it would have changed in the last two hours without someone going into the system and adjusting the time. She again tries to tell me they did not change it. I said I will try to explain it to my boss but thanks anyway. Then she just hangs up on me, no words. Now I think perhaps it is some sort of system error, so I call corporate. A man from customer service does tell me that it is at noon. I let him know that my email, text, and card are all off by an hour and the receptionist said she did not change it, so I ask him if there is some sort of glitch in the system or if he can find out what happened just so that it doesn't happen again and I can feel confident I am going in at the right time. He calls the office for me this time and asks why it changed. This is where I get pissed. He comes back and tells me there was an emergency and they needed to put that patient in my place so they did, in fact, choose to change my appointment. He said they may have tried to call me and I could have missed the call. I tell him there are no calls to my phone between 12-2 except for the call to confirm my appointment. I thank him for finding out. The fact that the receptionist not only straight up lied to me, but then doubled down on her lie has me reeling. They did, in fact, change my appointment, they did NOT notify me, and then they tried to make me feel like I was the problem when I became confused and frustrated. I would have had no issue if they just called me to say they moved it for an emergency, but lying to me makes me feel like I am going to have bad care. I am honestly really scared that my surgeries are going to either get put off randomly or go poorly because they can't be transparent with me. I would see a...
Read moreAbsolutely HORRIFIC experience for almost a year now. They never answer phones. It's on my phone records. so one has to go OUT OF THEIR WAY, drive to their store to talk to someone. That is ridiculous Well after seeing Dr. He wanted to shave down all my teeth from canine to canine to set crowns. when all they needed were filings. Aren't Dentists are suppose to want to keep your natural tooth as long as possible?! But that doctor just had đ˛ in his head & come to find out from canine to canine crown was gonna cost me $10000. I told Big Guy with billing department exactly what I said above n told him I could not afford 10000 I mean who can?! I told the big guy I would crown the front tooth bc it's bad and my back molar. Tho big guy try to push to do my other molar. I had to be firm and tell him my financial situation. I couldnt afford more than 2 teeth being done. I trusted that Dr and I felt taken advantage of. The 2 crowns Which ended up being 3900$ the big guy was understandable he charged me for the 2 crowns and the water pick n toothbrushes The Assistant pushed n pushed onto me. Which I've also read on your reviews. Big guy even offered me a job haa I went in for my drilling down of my molar n front tooth. they put temporary crowns on but the front tooth didn't wanna stay on. Dental assistant tried putting it on again. Within 2 hrs front tooth popped off. I went back n the next day & once again it came off in less than 24 hrs. Right b4 Christmas. Now dental assistant did say. use denture glue. If the cement they use at the dental office can't keep my front tooth on while I'm just talking how is denture glue?! Very unprofessional to tell me to fix your failure leaving me to deal and look like this. Aspen has now put on 2 different temporary crowns on at two different times. This was such a hassle đ Now this is my front tooth. I am a director. Very unprofessional and very embarrassing that I have had NO FRONT tooth now since December 19th. THE PERMANENT crown did come in. Didn't fit right. Wasn't the same color. And the Dr and dental assistant NEVER CLEANED THE TOOTH they were crowning. Just so bacteria cut eat away under the crown bc the negligence of not cleaning a tooth b4 crowning it. And they never cleaned any of my teeth before crowning and I'm worried bc of it Well I got the permanent crown on. It popped out while I was talking to staff. How embarrassing. All bc they didn't take time to do the job correctly and make sure it was on for good. Well they took more pix that day for color n shape to send to the crown manufacturer. For a new crown. Which would take ANOTHER 2 PLUS WEEKS. MORE THAN two weeks pass by & I go in today at 830 excited to FINALLY GET MY FRONT TOOTH AFTER ALMOST 2 Months. Dental assistant said all the images n pictures never got sent to get a new crown on my front tooth, from my appointment which was Over Two weeks ago. So now I was going to have to wait ANOTHER TWO WEEKS FOR MY FRONT TOOTH. Well It ended with me Getting screamed at n CUSSED AT & VERBALLY ABUSED AND EMBARASSED WHILE THE "ASPEN MANAGER" "THE Big Guy" CUSSED ME OUT. LOUDLY IN THE DENTAL ROOM HALLWAY AND TOLD ME TO GET MY ASS OUT, WORD FOR WORD. In the patient waiting room. 3000-4000$ FOR a root canal and the crown that was place is not placed correctly (a DR told me that they would replace it for free bc it wasnt placed correctly) It never got replaced as promised n still hurts, it hurts to eat n the nerves under it gooo crazy. Brushing my teeth is horrible. 3800$ for 2 crowns. My back right crown hurts to chew food n nerves r felt terribly around the crown. The front crown on my front tooth... They didn't have today, again. Nor can any dentist or assistant get ANY tooth mold to stay on. 2 months of terrible days. Terrible looking in the mirror n being toothless. New nicknames for me :( I am heart broken n hurt n EMBARASSED & outraged deeeply with this company . Aspen dental has hurt me sooo bad financially, emotionally, physically. I would Not recommend anyone trust ANY DR OR ASSISTANT IN THAT BUSINESS. I'm...
Read moreI made an appointment with Aspen. I was told over the phone that they wouldnât know if my insurance was going to be acccepted. I was told that I would receive a phone call as a check-in and that insurance would be verified that way. I never received the call, I went anyway because I wanted to be seen for a cleaning. My appointment was at 9:15 a.m. today. When I arrived I checked it and sat down. 3 people came in after me with appointments at 10 am they were almost immediately seen. Which I found odd. I had an appointment for 9:15 and 10:00 and 10:30âs were being seen before me. I was finally called back at 10:15. I did the ex-rays, talked with the hygienist and the doctor. I was told that I needed Invisalign, which supposedly wasnât going to be expensive, because they have the âBest rates in the country, and I wonât find a cheaper option.â Wisdom tooth extraction, and a specialized cleaning. After I was told all that information. I was sat in another waiting room. Not sure how long I waited but it was long enough to the point where I considered walking out. I finally get called to speak with the manager? I guess the manager calls people to speak about treatment plans? Anyways, he quoted me 4 grand. I told him that, that was a bit expensive. I told him âIâm a college student and a mother.â He then pointed out that they âHad payment plans.â even with the payment plans I still canât afford service. He then asked how much I was looking to pay. I said âaround $300.â He fixed the quote and stated that he âCould do a cleaning for $110 but that I needed to really get my wisdom tooth done, and the Invisalign because Iâm young and I can correct it now before anything gets worse.â I told him, âNo, Thank You. I appreciate the concern but Iâm not wanting to be seen. I donât have the money. I have insurance, that I can take someplace else and get these issues fixed.â He then stated âI actually called your insurance provider and you donât have dental coverage.â I said, âThatâs impossible. Iâve had this insurance for awhile and I know whatâs covered.â He still insisted that he had called and verified, which I know to be false because I never disclosed with him what insurance I had. He got upset and started going off about how I needed to get this done urgently. And that they had payment plans available. I tried to tell him about how I wasnât comfortable with him persistently trying to push his $4,000 service on me. He started talking about how Iâm looking to get it done for free or whatever. He was so loud that everyone in the lobby now knows personal information about what I needed to have done. He literally yelled about how I had an infection, which was false. Is that not a medical privacy violation of some sort? I told him âI know I can go get oral rinses or specialized toothpaste to hold me together until I can get seen my someone in my insurances network.â I commented about how he was being rude to not only me but every other person who had walked in that door after me, because I sat and watched it. I considered discreetly recording the interactions but peoples personal information wouldâve been in those recordings. He then told me to leave. Which I did. Iâm not going to stay and get the police called on because of a hostile situation. I have called corporate office. Despite him telling another woman who was having issues with being turned away eveytime she came to her schedule appointment and he replied. âGo ahead. It wonât do much good. All complaints come back to me.â He also argued with another patient about what time her appointment was and what time she got there. She was given two appointment times, and showed up to the earliest one because she had places to be, and couldnât afford the time to reschedule. He wasnât even dressed like a manager. To me, he was dressed like he was going on a 3 a.m. Walmart run.
After all that I did call my insurance to verify whether or not I had dental coverage. And I do!! I shouldâve read up on reviews or whatever but I didnât. But now, I know...
