(The one star is for Customer Service) This was my issue with my visit today. So was looking for the perfect whiteboard combo and I found it at Home Goods as I find most of my stuff. The attached picture is after the fact. There were two nails that was sticking out that separated the white board from the wood base. To me it looked like some thing was placed on top of the white board that allowed it to give way and expose the nails. (NOT my fault) but I liked the board anyway. So when I went to the cashier I let her know and asked if there was any discount. I wasn't expecting much and I loved the board. The young lady was nice and said she had to call for an approval. When the lady came for the approval, She didn't acknowledge me she just took the board placed it on another counter down the way and reached in a cabinet and got some Pliers out and began to remove the two nails. She came back over and said she would not be able to give me a discount....She said that Homegoods sales damage items and the only way you can get a discount is if the item is chipped or ripped......I explained it's broken. She said nope there is nothing she could do. And said do you want the board. I explained yes I want the board because I really like it....but i feel it's unfair because its broken and you are not willing to give a discount. She said I'll go see if there's another board. I said please do. (Ofcourse there isn't another board as I would have not wanted a broken board)I guess I look like I like broken items..... Anyway she comes back and says I'll give you a discount.....Guess how much $1. I felt like it was a slap in the face. But I took it because I shouldn't have to pay full price for and item that is clearly damaged but doesn't say clearance or" as is". Also this my second visit to home goods today and I finally found what I was looking for. When it was clearly broken. Also I can"t believe she removed nails that was needed for my board. That came with my board she removed them and she wants to charge me full price....... Side note :I bought two boards today the other one had no issues and they had many of that board. I wasn't trying to get...

Read moreIf you're looking for budget-friendly home decor, furniture, or gifts, HomeGoods is your store.
They have a wide range of items and their selection changes weekly, at a minimum. Their prices are unbeatable and selection is great. The only downsides? Their shelves can be disorganized, items are sometimes damaged, and the store is constantly pushing people to sign up for their credit card. Their revolving inventory also means that items may not be restocked again if they sell out so if you're considering it, just BUY IT because it may not be available later!
This store is located in a busy plaza off Hawthorne Blvd, next to Walmart and Marshalls. The parking lot is hard to get in and out of, and is very cramped. Holiday decorations, candles, faux plants, linens/pillows/bedding, kitchenware, furniture, gifts and trinkets, pet supplies, artwork - they've got it all! They don't carry clothing, shoes, toys, jewelry, or beauty products so look to Ross, TJ Maxx, or Marshalls for that.
Have a...
