In-N-Out makes the quintessential Southern California cheeseburger! It is proof that simple things done well can be great.
Having moved to Southern California from the Pacific Northwest a couple of years ago, I tried In-N-Out right away based on its popularity. That first experience was great! Great service, good quality ingredients, tasty, satisfying, and inexpensive.
I've been to several locations all around Southern California over the past couple of years and it has been almost exactly the same great experience every time.
We enjoy this particular location for a kid friendly comfort food dinner after a day at Torrance Beach with a group of friends.
Pro Tips: Don't use the drive thru! Dining in is the far better option for several reasons.
Faster service. You get your order much much faster than waiting in the drive thru line.
Free refills on drinks. They give you an empty cup and you get your own drink from the soda machine. They don't care if you just go back to the machine and get a refill. That is at least a two for one value.
Personally customized drinks. You can choose your own combinations and ratios. My wife and I recently discovered the Lemon Up. Part lemonade and part Seven Up. So refreshing!
Better eating experience. Clean tables, open access to as many condiments and napkins as you need, and a restroom to wash your hands if your burger was messy.
Save money and time. No wasting time and gas idling in the drive thru line.
Try ordering a Double Double, Animal Style, add whole grilled onion and chopped chilies.
I call it my perfect burger order. I love it so much I don't know if I'll ever order anything else again.
Order fries Light Well.
They take some of the regular fries and give them a few more seconds in the fryer. The fries come out hot and crispy. Thats a big improvement over their much maligned standard fries.
So, do yourself a favor, forget the national chains and give this regional cheeseburger...

The drive thru line was very long but there was an employee outside with a menu, taking orders (like they do at chick-fil-A) from cars, to speed things along. I was shocked at how basic the menu is. No chance of standing/sitting there undecided on the many options lol. I ordered a burger, fries and shake because well, that's all they sell (unless you want a pop). The guy kept asking if I wanted onions on the burger (at least 2-3 times) and I kept saying yes. I thought maybe he has a short memory. They ask if you want the order to sit in the car. I asked "as opposed to what other option?" I mean, I'm in the drive thru. Surely I'm not gonna order thru the drive thru then go sit down and eat. He explains it's the different between getting your order in a bag, like everywhere else or in a box. LOL. That was funny. What a waste of cardboard. Ok so boom, I get the food, park to look at my order then decide to eat my fries before they get cold. The fries are basic AH. Nothing special about them. Then I decided to just eat my burger and found out why he kept asking if I wanted onions! Those onions are SPICY! Poor choice. I took them off. The burger was flat and tiny. I was left feeling unfulfilled so I grabbed the shake. It was thick, smooth and well blended. Best part of the meal! I will not be going back "in" now that I'm "out." Jack n the box is so much more tastier. For the life of me I can't understand why ppl flock to this restaurant. I'd rather...

This is the first time ever somebody kick us out because it’s past 5 minutes after 1am, we cannot just shove the food everything to our mouth, she kills our appetite when we told employee that my mother in law is gonna travel and this will be her last meal before traveling outside the country. We’re dining at LA, Long beach and Las Vegas before closing or ordering last minute no body tells us to leave because their gonna closed, every In N out that we’re dining is letting us finish our food because they know their still cleaning until 2 am-3 am. We’re only 2 tables that still eating and At least let us finish it when they’re still cleaning. We heard the other table complained to her too why they’re accepting orders 3 minutes before closing when they don’t want us to dine inside until we finish it. We didn’t receive our order right away why being rude about it. I know you’re excited to go home but somebody still inside IN N OUT you can spare 2 tables to finish eating while you guys cleaning. Don’t come here 45 minutes before closing you might end up getting kick out...
