Moscarillo's Garden Shoppe — Local services in Torrington

December 2024 - To save time in my search for a purple Christmas cactus a family member wanted for her birthday, I went right to Moscarillo's Garden Shoppe as I was sure they'd have one. They did. About 8 or so in a small size, so I bought two of those to be planted together. All in beautiful bloom and clearly purple as to the more traditional magenta. They had yellow and peach, as well. There were also larger cactuses available. As I mentioned below in my first review, the shoppe has many items for purchase in addition to fresh and garden flowers as well as shrubs and lawn care products. Great to see Fascia's chocolate from Waterbury has branched out to selling small boxes of their truffles and bars for sale in stores other than their own. In Moscarillo's these can be found near the main register in the store.

June 2022 - Moscarillo's has always been a true nursery for a large variety of plants and saplings. I'd been looking for Shasta daisies since last spring and no one had them. I figured Moscarillo's would and they did. The staff member showed me two sizes on hand, just growing and already grown - around nine to ten inches. She realized I wanted the larger ones. I asked her to pick out two she thought looked real healthy - though they all looked fine. Happy to have these in the ground. I've bought many things from Moscarillo's over the years - fresh flowers for a special day, red geraniums for a flower box, garden whirligigs... all good products. Everything lasted. They have a large, relaxed, bountiful space to wander around to decide what you want to purchase. The store has items like greeting cards, garden statues, bird baths, wall hangings,...

I just visited Moscarillo the girls are polite who work there the flowers are beautiful but the only reason they got one Star was because of the rudeness of an elderly employee named Alan who was disgruntled with his job when he indicated to a previous customer "EVERYTHING IS PEACHY" . He was very friendly to a customer who was just buying a tomatoe plant but when I passed by and said hello to be nice he just turned the other way around and didn't respond he then walked away. He displayed ignorance and rudeness enough to discourage any customer but I still purchased my flat. This is a terrible way to start planting season hopefully he won't be there the next time but if he is I will not patronize them. 👎...

My first time here. I do not know much about flowers trees. My husband ask a associate named McKenzie about a tree and the whole time her tone of voice was rude... Annoyed... And she kept rolling her eyes. Instead of saying let me show you or help you find it. Or explain it a little better to people who are new to this. She was beyond rude and did not help what's so ever so this really turned me off.... Especially since I would like to help small businesses and would of continue being a loyal customer. I'm highly disappointed in this one associate. Only reason I have it one star... If I could give it none I would have. Learn to be patient with customers when your...
