One of the first things I do when moving to a new area is find the best sushi within a reasonable distance. Moved to New Hartford earlier this year, and this is it.

Place is a bit odd, and it does far more business with the Hibachi tables (something I personally view as food theater to be avoided unless you desire to spend the evening wearing eau d' grill oil), but the sushi here is excellent nonetheless. They always seem surprised I do not want to do Hibachi.

I have been several times and had various specialty rolls as well as sharing a boat with my daughter (something we often do) -- have not been disappointed by anything. Tornado roll is highly recommended! I also find it great that when they bring you some sort of variety plate of sushi/sashimi like the boat, the waitress always takes the time to name everything on the plate for you. I am well past the stage of needing that help, but I can remember a time when I would have loved to have servers do that for me. It's a good touch for people who cannot yet recognize every species of fish on their plate. The one weakness here is dessert -- they do have mochi, but aside from that all the items are typical American...

I will NEVER return to this god awful excuse of a restaurant. Its a shame it's one of the few Asian restaurants in Torrington but it unfortunately sucks. They provide horrible service, only saw the server once. Secondly I ordered a plate of "steamed" chicken and veggies with rice and a side of teriyaki sauce...two minutes before I got my "steamed health" plate I heard the microwave going off like ten times and the microwave door beeping and being slammed shut. That's what I got...a plate of microwaved, unseasoned chicken and vegetables...they forgot my side of rice and teriyaki sauce, but that didn't matter because it still tasted like nothing. My girlfriend got the habachi lunch and the rice was also microwaved (only partially hot in some areas) she got the steak and ordered it medium rare, that steak was well done and barely hot... again, all I could think of was "wow they poorly microwaved our meals". Just save yourself the money and let them run out of business naturally. Also recommend the staff learns what is on their menu and maybe check on your table once in a while......

We have been going to Fuji since it was established many years ago. I know my so. Is 23 yrs old and has ordered from Fuji on average at LEAST TWICE a week. I swear they put some kind of magic in their food because my son is addicted to Fuji. We have had countless celebrations meals there with family and friends as long as I can remember. They literally should have a special there called "The colby". Which means no vegetables ever. Needless to say we have all had the mini sake doll pee sake at us all idk how many times. Great lFOOD, staff and owners. Never had any complains in all these years. Never had even one thing that wasn't coked exactly as asked. To go or dine in. Grateful they are in our town or my so. Would have starved these past 20 yrs I think. 🥢🍱🍣🍱🥢🍸🍹🍸our whole family loves Fuji. ESPECIALLY colby. They must know his norm order by heart at this point I'd imagine Thank you Fuji for serving the town of Torrington a clean , fun and delicious food all these years. We have a lot of fond memories and meals there. ......

Is an expensive place butt is worth the money the food is really good I would recommend to anyone is my favorite palce, thay have my favorite food. The only bad thing that I can say is about the waitress she was very demanding with the tip she would yell across the hallway that we forgot to put the tip on the bill. besides that place is expensive they pushed you to give tips I thought that was optional how you feel about the service for you that night and I wasn't very happy with her. She forget the utensils or if I need to order something else to drink not very polite. My husband más I we always give a good tip if the service is really good for appreciation of the good service!!

I had the fried oysters with spicy Kani sushi appetizer, loved it! Deb had the Pork Gyoza, better known as pork fried dumplings, they were wonderful, love the dipping stuff. I had the combo hibachi chicken and lobster tail. Everything was perfect, hot and sweet Sriracha sauce made everything better for me. Deb had the General Taso's chicken with white rice, very good, huge chicken pieces. The vegetable stir fry was very good.. The fried rice and soup were awesome. The iceberg salad with that wonderful ginger dressing is so yummy. Great attentive service and the atmosphere rocked. I totally recommend!

Definitely a pleasant and nice Asian fusion restaurant. They have an enormous drink selection. I would recommend the Summer Mule and the Moscow Mule. Strong and delicious. There is a straight line 10 seat bar and about four booths also in the bar area. I would come back for happy hour any day! The hibachi looked delightful and the atmosphere is well done. They should upgrade their outdoor sign and menu as they seem a little faded. But this place is worth experiencing if ever in Torrington/New Hartford area.
