Incredibly unfriendly staff at the Williamsville location. I usually go to the Hertel location and every single member of the staff there goes above and beyond, trying to help figure out what you should get and offering to wrap them. But my visit to the Williamsville store today was so unpleasant I am considering not going to any Clayton location ever again. Our visit was at around 11:45am and it wasn’t busy. One person checking out before us, one person waiting to checkout after us. Two staff members. The staff just tried to rush us out, it was so uncomfortable. I bought about $150 of toys and wanted to have them wrapped. The staff member made me feel like it was a huge inconvenience to wrap them and was obviously rushing us out. I almost felt like there was an unconscious bias because I was a minority woman in a very suburban store with literally only white people around (both staff members also white women in their 50s).
I have always supported local toy stores where our favorite used to be Tree House before they closed. For almost a decade I have done all our toy shopping at local stores but with Clayton being the only choice now, I am sad to have to go to bigger chains to do my...
Read moreThis place is very unique, all in good ways. They have stuff here you won't find at traditional stores that carry similar categories or products. Their stuffed animals almost seem to be hand picked, as there's no abundance of one specific kind, but they do have it all, from traditional farm animals, bears, tropical animals, to kawaii cutesy stuff, all seemingly very high quality, with an expected price to match it however. They offer free wrapping of gifts here for anything you may want wrapped, and they do a great job at it, comes with a little sticker, and a cute little ribbon bow. They're very on par with professional Christmas Gift wrapping, which is a talent they're offering with every purchase. They also have a lot of baby stuff (like toys and comfort things). Things like board games and dolls can also be found here. This is one of those kinds of stores you can stop into even if you don't have anything in mind, and you'll probably find something you want to take home. Staff is also very, very friendly and great at communicating, when I came in it was almost like my family worked there, and I was just stopping by to visit them, overall,...
Read moreI would have never gone into this store without reason. I had seen a toy that someone bought for one of my grandchildren there. I wanted to get another one for another grandchild. We walked into a wonderful experience! Clayton's was filled, wall to wall with the most amazing toys. It transported me back to wonderful childhood memories of going shopping at true toy stores with my Grandmother. There are so many unique, adorable, imaginative toys in the shop! Be prepared to spend some quality time looking at everything. Most amazingly, the prices are down right reasonable and affordable! Not to mention they offer unique toys that you can't find anywhere else! Clayton's is definitely a gem. The ladies we checked out with were very friendly and helpful. I only wish we had found this gem sooner! Fond memories, great toys and nostalgia really made my holidays so...
